⭐I felt more passionately about how bad this book was, when I first bought it a couple weeks ago for school, so I probably would have presented a more focused & in depth review against this book, but I’m a little bit pressed for time & Amazon.com just sent me an e-mail to review this product, so I thought I would just briefly go on the record & say: this book is poorly edited: the authors do a bad poor job of synthesizing their examples of critical thinking principles & definitions with the examples they use. The book lightly goes over any theory or context of critical reasoning pedagogy & then immediately goes into examples with barely any context for you to make sense of them on more than a surface level.The author went to an IVY league for Mathematics, but he should of taken some more ENG classes & his editor/co-author is just a translator. They are both from the Bay Area & it seems that she may have been stretching her talents but was perhaps a friend of the authors so she was overlooked. Overall a poor job, you can see what they are attempting in being different but I think they fail, they fail by talking down to students…

⭐I’m not too pleased with the book by itself. I have, however had much worse books, so it’s alright. Thankfully the teacher of the class that I need this book for is absolutely excellent, so together it makes the class good. The author is good at explaining some of the stuff in the book and really bad at explanations for other things in the book. This is Philosophy though, so there never really is a right answer, but there are always wrong answers.

⭐Gave it 3 stars because it stresses the importance of learning critical thinking in a classroom setting as opposed to self study. Had I seen this bit, I would not have bought the book, and would have opted for one that is confident that I can gain just as much from studying it on my own.

⭐This book is helpful for terminology that follows thinking critically but I wouldn’t recommend it to just anyone. If you don’t know what critical thinking is this book would be for you. But for the average person who knows what it is and how to do so; unless you want to learn the terms and figure out how to write your arguments; then I wouldn’t recommend the book.

⭐The book smells like cigarets but for the price I paid the book was good enough.Gets the job done.

⭐Great book/tool to have. It’s been helping me sort out what I perceive to be true or not. It has helped me de-clutter my mind. Excellent book; highly recommended.

⭐This book provides great ideas for teachers trying to teach critical thinking skills to students. This book walks you through explanations and great activities.
