User’s Reviews

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐It’s hard to believe it now, but for years “Lady Chatterly’s Lover” was on everyone In the USA’S banned list–this collection brings together all of Lawrence’s novels and essays–I bought it primarily for the essays, especially the one where he looks to fiction as a worthy adjunct to history. He says that fiction will tell you the truth of the author’s time, a useful argument if anyone objects to a teacher including a well-chosen nove in a history class

⭐DH Lawrence is one of the great greats. It’s wonderful to have everything here in one kindle edition. Easy to read, easy to search. One quibble, the text scanning created some typos, which should be cleaned up.

⭐Copyright limitations keep the U. S. version incomplete, but Delphi just e-mailed me that there is an update. I don’t find that option here in my Kindle content.

⭐I just discovered D.H. Lawrence and feel so fortunate. He is a wonderful narrator and the characters are multi-dimensional. I am really enjoying it.

⭐I do not believe there is a single work by D.H. Lawrence that I do not like. I do enjoy some better than others…that is what makes this compilation great. Something for everyone.

⭐Although I have not read this edition, D.H. Lawrence is one of my favorite authors so I must give it 5 stars. Glad to have this collection in my Kindle library.

⭐I was disappointed that some of my favorite poems were not included in this edition. “The Elephant is Slow to Mate” and “The Mosquito Knows” are missinng. In addition, Lady Chatterly is conspicuous by her absence.I bought this because I was expecting the “Complete Works of D.H. Lawrence” as stated on the cover graphic. Sure, after purchase, I read the editorial description and became aware of the copyright situation. And I also noted that the collection is sometimes referred to as “Works of D.H. Lawrence,” which might have been a clue. Caveat emptor, I suppose. But I do not feel that one should need to ferret out all the details when purchasing a Kindle book. I would like to feel confident that something labeled “Complete Works of” was in fact the complete works of a particular author.Does Delphi indulge in this little shell game with any of it’s other collections? Also, the description states: “Once the missing texts enter the public domain, they will be automatically added as a free upgrade for our customers.” I wonder how that will happen.

⭐I had never read D. H. Lawrence before, so I ordered this to enlighten my brain. And no, I didn’t like it. I read three short stories in the Prussian Officer series. Too much unnecessary and meaningless violence for me. And he seemed to promote violence as a requirement for a good relationship.

⭐Catching up after a long time with DHL in a familiar environment and locality is great reading. Getting used to Kindle is great for travel and easy access.

⭐I wanted to order this book because it contained an assortment of the Authors work, as well as use it for reference.
