Description

Cryptography is concerned with the conceptualization, definition, and construction of computing systems that address security concerns. The design of cryptographic systems must be based on firm foundations. Building on the basic tools presented in the first volume, this second volume of Foundations of Cryptography contains a rigorous and systematic treatment of three basic applications: Encryption, Signatures, and General Cryptographic Protocols. It is suitable for use in a graduate course on cryptography and as a reference book for experts. The author assumes basic familiarity with the design and analysis of algorithms; some knowledge of complexity theory and probability is also useful. ⭐There are many good books on cryptography but two volume edition of Oded Goldreich’s “Foundations of Cryptography” is standing apart because of its very good balance of theoretical foundations on one side and practical information on the other. While the first volume is presenting major theoretical concepts the modern cryptography is built upon, the second one describes how these concepts are applied to building real cryptosystems. The first topic dicussed in the second volume encryption schemes, including both symmetric and asymmetric ones. Different scheme types and major general attacks on them are presented. Second chapter contains an in-depth exploration of digital signatures and message authentication codes. Third chapter is focused on cryptographic protocols and contains good insights on the multi-part computation (MPC) cases. Appendices section, even though small, contains useful information about non-interactive zero-knowledge (NIZK) proof systems, introduced in the first volume. Overall, this is a “must read” book for anyone who is looking for deep understanding of mathematical foundations of the modern cryptography.

⭐Good Service and a good book.

⭐This is a sequel of Foundations of Cryptography, Vol 1, which covers theoretical proofs of signatures, encryptions, and more. The price of $75.00 is a bit prohibitive at the moment, and the contents are a little bit dense to follow, but this is an important book to have if you want to do research in theoretical crypto.

⭐Good for advanced cryptography learning. It is 2nd book from author, continuation from 1st. Students from final year graduation and masters or PhD, suitable book for them for research or for good cryptography work.

⭐Good book
