⭐I’ve seen the for dummies books before and I think it’s a humorous take on learning. bought for a friend moving to Germany with her military husband!

⭐There have been times when my German wasn’t bad, but the latest time was at least ten years ago! So when we planned a weekend in Berlin, I wanted something that would give me a quick refresher without going into all the complicated grammar. This book was perfect! I kept it in my purse (and it’s not a big one!) for the week before our trip and reviewed whenever I had a few minutes. By the time we arrived in Berlin, I could order a local beer (most important of all, right?!), ask how much something costs, ask where the nearest ATM is…and even understand the answers! The pronunciation guide is really pretty good, so you don’t have to have a recording to figure out the sounds. There is also a small grammar section in the beginning which does help for formulating questions and saying things in past tense, etc. English definitions are given in the text, but there is no separate glossary. If you have never had any German, it would take more than a week with this book to be able to get around like I did, but it is excellent to jog old memories. I am very happy with this purchase.

⭐This helped me understand the der, die, das, dessen, usw concepts. I knew at least 2 years worth of German already. It took me a year to get those concepts through my thick skull. Amazing book.

⭐I brought this for a gift, she is moving to Germany with her husband, who is in the Army. She loved it, and was really excited to flip through it. I liked it because it was small and will fit in most bags as you travel.

⭐Great book easy learning possible

⭐Bought this a year ago and still don’t know any German, not the books fault, mine I haven’t been reading. However from the times I did read it the book is well set out and easy to understand and read. I always carry it around with me just in case I run into the odd German once In a while… Very, very nice book.

⭐Its not as good as I thought it would be. I always thought ‘for dummies’ were good books until I read this. I mean, its GOOD, but…its too…cluttered, I guess. Too much going on.
