Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐Here are the “good” and “bad” on this book…ADVANTAGES.1. The reader is getting everything on home networking in one reference: equipment selection, configuration, software, peripherals, gadgets, . . . everything..2. The language is non-technical. A novice to networking is able to understand…DISADVANTAGES.1. The book is “out of date.” On the Windows platform, the most recent OS’s are XP and Vista..2. Several of the hardware are obsolete – they are not attainable or usable. These include internet security adapters, WiFi finders, net cards, and a host of other old equipment.

⭐Don’t bother with this book unless you are almost completely computer illiterate. In addition the book needs to be updated – what computers need network adapters installed these days?

⭐Just want I wanted. As Described. Fast Shipping.

⭐These are always a good helpful item to have, even if you only look up one thing and fix it, it’s worth the money. I bought 4-5 of these over the years. These books are full of great information I always find helpful and the terms are explained in a great & understanding dialog so even I can grasp how to push the correct button at the right time.Hungry

⭐Out-of date publication, copyright 2008.Does not eve cover Windows 7, let alone Windows 8 or 10.This is not a basic, simple “Dummies” book.It has very extensive, detailed information, but this it hard to put to practical use.I should have immediately returned it,but then I should have looked at the copyright date which is mentioned in the Amazon description.

⭐Dummys books are always good to have as far as I know. I have not tried to set anything up as yet but I’m sure this will help when I do.

⭐Excellent guide for someone new to networking that wants to setup a network at home includes wired, wireless and hybrid networks and guide the reader through building, maintaining and securing their network 5 stars

⭐This book provides everything I needed to completely set up my entire home network. I would recommend this book to anyone who needs a quick to the point tutorial on home networking. Kudos

⭐This book is pretty comprehensive but could do with an update, obviously written before the advent of windows 7 and is not exactly “for dummies”, not sure a total IT novice flicking through this weighty tome would know where to to start. Recommended for more experienced users and useful as a reference for more complex networking tasks and issues. Good value at the price.

    ⭐Very informative
