⭐Gooooooood

⭐My comments here are specifically about the Kindle edition, not the print edition. Actually have a copy of the print edition and it’s pretty good. I’m not an expert on fluid dynamics — just a person curious about the subject, and was exposed to it a bit in college. My understanding is that this book is a bit dated in style of presentation and missing 20th century developments in the subject, but otherwise highly regarded. I will however let experts provide better commentary on the content. However I’m in the process of moving to e-books to reduce clutter. What I want to say here is specifically about the Kindle edition.I downloaded the free sample of the Kindle edition on September 14, 2013.This edition is unusable. Equations are typeset in a way that comes out as garbage text not even looking like equations.I have a few other Dover books which have been made available as Kindle editions. So far those have been somewhat problematic usually because of peculiarly-sized fonts for mathematical equations, but in those cases the equations do in fact look normal, just in a very tiny font. (E.g. “Combinatorial Optimization” by Papadimitriou and Steiglitz). In this edition however it looks as if a very poor conversion process was done, and either nobody bothered to look at the results, or they didn’t care, or they couldn’t afford to do anything about it.I strongly recommend *against* anyone purchasing the Kindle edition of this book unless and until the publisher fixes the problems. Please avoid wasting money and check the free sample to be sure before you buy.If however the publisher does re-do the Kindle version to correct these problems then the story would change completely, and I think this would be a very welcome addition to the library of anyone interested in this subject.

⭐Lamb’s book is great and deserves 5 stars. Low rating is for HardPress publishers. This is a scanned version of the book which has been printed. But in several places parts of text are missing. Also there is someone’s handwritten notes in several places which has also been scanned and printed. Because of this the book is unreadable.
