Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐The author of this book has included” research” and medical information that is based on fraudulent and discredited “studies”. It is difficult enough to live with a chronic condition without also being taken advantage of by people who have their own agendas or simply want to make a buck. Do not add to your problems by buying a book like this which will give you incorrect and possibly harmful information and make sure (unlike I just did!) that you double check all of the author’s credentials before spending money on books about your condition.

⭐Critical reference read for anyone who has had gut distress. Compassionate and candid. Dr. Dean provides serious scientific grounding for each of her assertions and her way of working with the body delivers. I am far beyond the level of health I expected to ever achieve again after a very long and serious illness. Dr Dean’s work and formulas she has designed and developed to meet her very high standards are helping people heal, take charge of their own system, and learn how to optimize their wellness in an increasingly toxic world.

⭐I purchased 5 books these for my 84 year old mom who has Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I skimmed over parts of the books. My Mom found easy explanations about the Irritable Bowel, Diverticulosis vs Diverticulitis, and Colitis. She Learned more about the foods that she should avoid and the reasons. She found many helpful dinner recipes. The books were easy to read in layperson language. I’am a Nurse of 20 years. This is a general review for all five books that I purchased.

⭐I have not read any Dummie books before and probable won’t based on this one. Author throws everything at this problem and vows that they all work which is not only improbable but seems utterly false. I do not believe she suffers from anything chronic or would know better. Not helpful to me

⭐It is very well explain. Actually thanks to this book, I was able to realize I had IBS for quite some time now. I had been able with very bad experiences to know which foods I can eat now without feeling miserable. It took me like a year and a half to be really better. And even now, I tend to try new things but some are still no good for me. It is actually really sad that the food I use to love I’m not able to eat it anymore. But I have to learn to live with this condition.

⭐This book has been the most informative book i’ve read of IBS. A few months ago i was diagnosed with IBS and as time passed, I felt like I needed more information to learn how to cope with this illness. What I actually loved about this book is that they tell you the facts with scientific research. It talks about normal and alternative medicines, and it covers about everything you need to know, from the beggining of the symptoms, to all the lastest research that has been done for the well being of many of us.

⭐This was my first book I got when I was diagnosed with IBS, very basic book, introductory. It helped me get my IBS under-control and informed me about what to do and what to eat to manage my symptoms. I was able to get well and manage my symptoms. I like the Idiot’s book to IBS better because it has different details in the book compared to this book. There are both good books. I liked this book. It helped me improve my symptoms.

⭐How , may you ask, “IBS for Dummies” is a money saver? My 30-year-old son had several abdominal pain episodes, went to a digestive specialize and was to undergo a procedure that was not covered under insurance. Before the procedure, I bought and gave this book to him. He read it and realized that IBS was the culprit. Saved us alot of money.

⭐This book explains everything u need to know about IBS written by someone who understands exactly how it feels to have this complaint-learned more from this book than the doctors could help me with-u dont have to start at the first chapter but can go to any chapter that u want to read first which i did then started at the beginning-found this book helped me a lot have not finished it yet as there are so many other details relating to your body which helps with this problem-especially how to relax and how stress is a major problem-when i pick it up i cant put it down again-worth buying as u can keep referring to it-it is larger than i thought it would be but worth the money-the only down side is that it is from American doctors giving details of USA medicines but it still fully explains everything in a language we non medical folk can understand. Im so glad I spotted this IBS for Dummies(US edition)on Amazon.

⭐good. very comprehensive with clear / objective explanations. it is good help, talks about everything related to ibs, and you discover many things you had no idea aboutunlike many other books about the subject, it does not focus on one aspect and leave the rest aside, but gives a holistic approachif you are a sufferer, or someone you know is, my reccomendation is go for it!!

⭐Great book. have started reading it, hopefully it will help my IBS problems and symptoms

⭐As like, I am sure, the other ‘Dummies’ books this one written for IBS sufferers is not exception. It details in easy language what IBS is, gives great tips and advice and makes it easy to understand. Worth buying even if you are not the sufferer so that you also understand what they are going through.

⭐I haven’t read many of the “For Dummies” series, but having lived with IBS and IBD, this book gave me the impression that the series is a complete sell-out. If at any point they summarized academic level research ‘for dummies’, they certainly don’t do that now. This book is 100+ pages of Google search results. In other words, they give therapies like homeopathy the same weight as fecal matter transplants. They equate therapies like probiotics to things like aromatherapy, without ever indicating that one therapy has pages of peer-reviewed studies to support it’s efficacy, and the other doesn’t. The authors of this book have literally summarized and given equal credence to everything you can Google about IBS, and that’s extremely disappointing.
