Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐I had hoped to get an overview of Indesign that would take me through the process of opening the file, establishing parameters, and doing a basic layout. Instead, this book takes you through endless detail before you even get to importing text and pictures. I have used other publishing programs so I am not a novice but this book is no easy guide to Indesign. It is best used if you have a specific question and need to find a specific answer but even then you may find that topic is not addressed. You might as well save your money and use the on-line manual.

⭐The book is so helpful. I never worked in InDesign before. The book often refers to and compares other programs and applications that some of us old folk were used to working in until forced to switch to InDesign. I like to pick up a book and look up exactly what I need to do on any given job and learn how to do it while creating the work. The illustrations are right there along with tips that make great sense and work. The language is simple yet deals with the sometimes complicated instructions that teach different approaches to accomplishing the same result. A great and handy reference.

⭐I keep this book on my desk. I have been in design work for many years and found this book to be a big help! It helped me get a better understanding of the newer design program.

⭐Considering it is for dummies, I must be a complete moron. It was confusing to me as a beginner just learning the program. I found I got most of my training and support and info from the Adobe website and the training tutorials (video) offered there free. Now it is sitting on my shelf collecting dust. Not loving it.

⭐The book looked better than I expected. The book is more than I expected and the content was very awesome.

⭐love book great seller

⭐I had never worked with this program before, but the job that I got requires me to use it a lot. The chapter breakdowns and easy instructions allow me to create amazing documents.

⭐It has been over a month and still this item has not been received. Neither has any correspondence been received concerning shipment or concerning any delay in shipment.

⭐I came to this book as a Pagemaker user of some 10 years, forced to upgrade to Indesign as we upgraded all our other software and none of it works with Pagemaker any more. Contrary to its title, I found this book assumes a pretty high level of knowledge of graphic design software and that it wasn’t for beginners at all. Like many books of its kind, it teaches you how to do specific things but not how to troubleshoot and find out why something isn’t working as it should. I had several fairly basic problems and had to resort to searching for them on Google as they weren’t covered in this book. I wouldn’t recommend it for beginners or those who need just the basic features that enable you to publish books with this software – which is what I do.

⭐It is a great book, that was sent in time and packed diligently against rain and shock should it fall down. It is a valuable inspiration for dealing with the programme and it really takes its time to browse through its wealth of pages. I am very glad, that somebody took the trouble to keep it in shape and was so kind to sell it now.

⭐This is a great introduction to In design. In my experience none of the ‘for dummies’ series are targeted at Dummies. There is an assumption of a certain basic knowledge and common sense so it is not too irritating for myself who is intermediate. The tips and tricks inserts in the margins are very useful. A great starting point, or also useful to confirm what you know and build on it.

⭐As far as how to books go this one is quite complex. I have basic knowledge and understanding of Indesign so I thought this guide would be very easy with basic instructions, how very wrong I was.

⭐Meh!
