Description

This book is about differential geometry of space curves and surfaces. The formulation and presentation are largely based on a tensor calculus approach. It can be used as part of a course on tensor calculus as well as a textbook or a reference for an intermediate-level course on differential geometry of curves and surfaces. The book is furnished with extensive sets of exercises and many cross references, which are hyperlinked, to facilitate linking related concepts and sections. The book also contains a considerable number of 2D and 3D graphic illustrations to help the readers and users to visualize the ideas and understand the abstract concepts. We also provided an introductory chapter where the main concepts and techniques needed to understand the offered materials of differential geometry are outlined to make the book fairly self-contained and reduce the need for external references.

User’s Reviews

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐Lots of exercises. All the graphic illustrations in the paperback print edition are in gray color. What a pity!!! According to the advertisement, the Kindle edition has them in very bright and beautiful colors.

⭐The book size is too large to portable.

⭐Great for Advanced high school student and intro for lower level Undergrad

⭐This Geometry book really helped me. I’ve never really been good at geometry but the explanations and illustrations made it easy.

⭐Brushing up on my math. Love it.

⭐Good.

⭐Awesome reading. As a math geek, I’m in heaven and recommend this to all who love the subject. Interesting reading and a must-have for the brainy folk

⭐Excellent book clearly explained a must for maths students nice illustration

⭐This short book gives a harmless introduction to the differential geometry of curves and surfaces. The nature of the book privileges the intuition toward the rigor. It gives a few examples and helps the reader to understand the concept with a easy language. It does not require a very strong mathematical background. Although I do not consider it to be a bad book, I do not like the fact that it is short and quite sketchy on many parts. Also I do not find the examples and the exercises of very high interest.

⭐Introduction is a misnomer, it’s more like a learned treatise. It’s very thorough and complete for which willingit deserves five stars. I found it a difficult read, it’s more like a PhD thesis, but then I’ m past it.Probably not suitable for the average undergraduate. However it should not be ignored.

⭐I have a number of books on this subject but this is a great introduction to the mathematics. A must for any beginner. Buy Buy Buy

⭐This book is easy to read. It contains nice illustrations. Good introduction to differential Geometry

⭐Alles sehr gut.
