⭐It’s a sad little book. Out of print. Even the publisher no longer exists.It seems unlikely that anyone will ever even see this review. This book, such as it is, has passed into history. I’m writing the review in the off-chance that it might save someone from wasting his or her time or money. And because there is simply no other information available, on Amazon or elsewhere.Professor Salomaa states in his preface that one of his aims is “to give an introduction of the theory for an uninitiated reader.” I’m afraid he doesn’t even come close. I threw in the towel on page 2. Poorly explained concepts. Unexplained abbreviations. Arcane and poorly explained symbolism. Poor design. And simply not well written. You get the idea.A far better and much more recent alternative is Formal Language: A Practical Introduction by Adam Brooks Webber.
