Description

Laplace Transforms for Electronic Engineers, Second (Revised) Edition details the theoretical concepts and practical application of Laplace transformation in the context of electrical engineering. The title is comprised of 10 chapters that cover the whole spectrum of Laplace transform theory that includes advancement, concepts, methods, logic, and application. The book first covers the functions of a complex variable, and then proceeds to tackling the Fourier series and integral, the Laplace transformation, and the inverse Laplace transformation. The next chapter details the Laplace transform theorems. The subsequent chapters talk about the various applications of the Laplace transform theories, such as network analysis, transforms of special waveshapes and pulses, electronic filters, and other specialized applications. The text will be of great interest to electrical engineers and technicians.

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐This is a great book on Laplace Transforms – I love it.

⭐Why don’t books like this get written any more? The author, a former Varian employee, uses a very easy to read and understand tone to convey subject matter that is often clouded by mathematical jargon. In only a short time, one realizes that he is dealing with an expert on the subject. The book starts with a quick introduction to complex numbers and proceeds quickly through the necessity of complex number planes. This is quite common in books like this, but this is also where this book begins to break away from any other I have read. The benefits of using mapping over seemingly more direct methods is explained by example very clearly so that the reader realizes WHY we map complex functions, not just HOW to map a complex function. It is rich in practical examples of how to quickly model simple systems and amplifiers and then in turn, modify them in such a way as to optimize desired parameters. It finishes off with an excellent treatment on the entry levels of synthesizing functions (filters), all using the same friendly tone it starts out with. The author’s salutation says it all: “And now it is time for me to say goodbye to the reader… it has been a pleasant task to have written the book for you, the best of luck to you in future studies and your personal life.”
