User’s Reviews
Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:
⭐First and foremost, this book is not an introduction to linear algebra. The book glosses over the basics of matrix operations in the first chapter, but it does not go into detail about matrix multiplication, taking the determinant of a matrix, etc. Chapters 2 and beyond jump right in to linear maps, eigenvalues/vectors, and diagonalization. There are questions at the end of each chapter, but often do not completely cover the material, and may even go well beyond the material presented in the chapter. Answers to some of the basic questions are in the back of the book, but these answers are few and far between, sometimes the author decides to skip an entire section of questions. On top of this, the answers are frequently incorrect. In addition the questions and the book content itself is occasionally incorrect or misleading: on one specific page the author manages to mess up his own definition of a matrix transformation three times.Pros: Concise, easy to read (compared to other math textbooks).Cons: Riddled with errors, very few answers to the problems presented in the book.
