KDP-OVERALL EDITION 1:-OVERVIEW:Mrs Dalloway (published on 14 May 1925) is a novel by Virginia Woolf that details a day in the life of Clarissa Dalloway in post-World War I England. Mrs Dalloway continues to be one of Woolf’s best-known novels.Created from two short stories, “Mrs Dalloway in Bond Street” and the unfinished “The Prime Minister”, the novel’s story is of Clarissa’s preparations for a party of which she is to be hostess. With the interior perspective of the novel, the story travels forwards and back in time, and in and out of the characters’ minds, to construct a complete image of Clarissa’s life and of the inter-war social structure. This Edition 1 is one of KDP-OVERALL Collectible Editions classics. Each edition features authoritative texts by the world’s greatest authors. Decorative, durable, and collectible, these books offer hours of pleasure to readers young and old and are an indispensable cornerstone for any home library.

User’s Reviews

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐I like this publication of the titled book for its simple cover and prints. The book itself appeals more to an adult reader, maybe. I got this book for my 8th-grade daughter to read, in preparation for the standardized tests that seem to like Virginia Woolf. I have suggested for her to read “Room with A View,” instead. “Mrs. Dalloway” covers flashbacks and description of post-WWI life in London and a suburb town. The main characters are in their fifty’s — my age — so I can relate a little to their concerns. Even then, I had to force myself to finish the short book.

⭐Unlike many of the unauthorized editions of Mrs. Dalloway, this is a properly produced, proofed, and typeset publication from Penguin Books in the UK, easy to read and professionally edited and manufactured.

⭐Self.

⭐Needless to say, I was disappointed in receiving only a chapter (if that’s what it was). What I read, of course, was an example of Virginia Woolf’s ability to get inside another person’s mind. And that made me even more interested in reading the entire book.

⭐be aware — this edition has small print so not easy on the eyes!

⭐Great book.

⭐loved it!

⭐Buyer beware — this is an undersized book and the print is TINY.

⭐So, Mrs Dalloway is a masterpiece, but, if like me you prefer your book reviews from more credible sources than Amazon reviews, then keep reading and I will review the physical book itself.Despite the Covid-19 crisis the book was delivered quite quickly and the driver observed social distancing whilst being friendly as always! As for the book, it is beautiful. I already own copies of “A Room of One’s Own” and “Orlando”, neither of which are the Vintage Woolf editions (although my copy of Orlando is the usual Vintage edition). These specially made editions are gorgeous, the covers are delicate and pretty in design and the quality to a high, too. They are not the biggest books, and the text does not fill the page, but the quality and design are so high as to make reading a physical as well as mental pleasure. All in all, the combination of Amazon service combined with a sumptuous book, make buying this edition of Virginia Woolf a no brainer!

⭐This novel is regarded as one of the triumphs of modernism. In both subject matter and style it is well ahead of its time. Behind it lie massive enterprises such as James Joyce ‘Ulysses’, which introduce the stream of consciousness technique that Woolf makes extensive use of here. This does not make make for easy reading. We encounter lengthy sentences and the absence of traditional paragraphing. It is through such techniques that the author brings us into such a close relationship with the book’s heroine, Clarissa Dalloway, the wife of an MP and caught up in the preparations for a socialite party. The whole narrative occupies but a single day, again in the fashion of Joyce’s masterpieece. This is not a book we read for the plot, which is the least original aspect of the undertaking. The evocative expressiveness of this interior monologue lifts the novel into something very special for many of its readers. This particular edition is beautifully presented and would make a delightful present.

⭐This was the first time I had read any of Virginia Wolf’s books. There were large sections of it that I highlighted and noted, just for the sheer joy of reading the descriptions of thoughts expressed. I have the feeling that I will return again and again to this book, and it has been a welcome introduction to her writing.

⭐Beautiful copy, stunning artwork that reflects the transient nature of the everyday and the staccato effect of everyday people leaving their mark on the world. Virginia Woolf is an icon, I urge you to give this a go. There is so much Woolf is saying through her words as a woman. It’s beautiful

⭐This is an attractive small edition of Virginia Woolf’s classic novel, and there are others in the series. Well produced.
