Description

My Inventions is an autobiographical account of Nikola Tesla, genius inventor, written at the age of 63. The content of the book was largely drawn from a series of articles that Nikola Tesla had written for Electrical Experimenter magazine. Tesla’s personal account is divided into six chapters covering different periods of his life: My Early Life, My First Efforts At Invention, My Later Endeavors, The Discovery of the Tesla Coil and Transformer, The Magnifying Transmitter, and The Art of Telautomatics. Tesla tells about his life, how his inventions came to him, and even how his inventions helped save his life. He tells his encounters with famous people, his brushes with death, which happened more than once, and also about some future ideas. This autobiography provides a deeply captivating sight into Tesla’s genius mind and his strange world out of time.

User’s Reviews

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐A must read for everyone. He is now gone but will never be forgotten.

⭐The author appears in this work to be detached from reality. It makes me want to do a serious study of Tesla, his accomplishments and his afflictions.

⭐The book is GREAT.HOWEVER… there is something really weird going on here.I got the Watchmaker paperback version of the book. I am also listening to the Waxkeep edition of the book as an audiobook. And there are some disturbing differences in the two editions. So far I’ve noticed a date, some parenthetical statements, and a lot of numbers. The strangest thing is the difference in the inclusion of god and the Bible. The Watchmaker paperback seems to be the less accurate as it gets something as easily checkable as Tesla’s magnifying transmitter wrong, written magnifying transformer in the book, while the Waxkeep gets this right. This is particularly apparent when Tesla comes to a revelation seeing the interaction between lightning and rain on a mountain. In that moment he comes up with his spectacular dreams of harnessing this power. In the Watchmaker paper back, this revelation is prefaced with a paragraph about bible studies. And similar revelations are prefaces with bible studies. There is zero mention, so far, of the Bible or god in the Waxkeep edition.I’m not a religious person, but I am reading this book because I am curious about Tesla and his OWN ideas in his OWN words. I don’t know if someone is omitting words or putting words in his mouth, the latter seeming more likely due to the evidence, but it is disgusting and absolutely immoral.

⭐He told his story and it was one of being used by richer men. He had an open attitude and was very innocent. He was not like American.

⭐A good introduction into the enormous contributions of Tesla, but only touched the surface as to answering where and why we aren’t using his greatest technology now. For example free wireless transmission and generation of electricity. Brilliant man.

⭐It feels like it should be criminal to only recognize this man as much as we have. His glory and brilliance overshadows his subtle lack of confidence abd the fact the he was swindled out of money and recognition, several times. Still, he was so humble he had the opinion that his plight, being “misunderstood and unrewarded,” was the natural condition of an inventor. In some cases, his being one of them, it may be so but that doesn’t make it right. Industries were built off of the sweat of his brow! This man, if only he had read and, like a politician, so passionately and relegiously followed The Prince, by Machiavelli, I imagine he would have had been able to contending with the likes of Rockefeller and J. P. Morgan, needless to mention Edison lol He ruthlessly got stepped on and ridiculed because they were too afraid, jealous, or just plain stupid. Very few are aware of his spiritual nature, he touches on this a little but, if I could ask him some questions, if I could travel back in time lol I bet he would describe a whole host of spiritual experiences; the obvious one was his method of invention. There should, at the least, the very least, be a national holiday for this man who, at a young age, unlocked a secret that made him a genius; a genius who so loved the world that he gave his inventions; inventions that gave rise to an unprecedented wealth of endless scientific advancement.

⭐Great book, fast read but left me hungry and searching to learn more about this incredibly unique inventor and man.

⭐Very interesting book on Tesla’s life direct from Tesla himself. Glad I bought the other books – just need time to read them.

⭐Great book but not a lot of pages, But then most of his good inventions were stolen by the government so how could they be in the book ???.

⭐Any words written by the man himself are worth reading . Good info on Tesla growing up , his near death experiences and much more . Would have liked a more exhaustive list of ALL of his inventions though as not all were mentioned . A 3.5 x Star book IMO , will err on the side of a 4 x star for review purposes.

⭐I can’t describe this as a book; it is a self-indulgent pamphlet. Padded out to its whopping c.50 pages with stories of things that happened to him as a child…eg a rich man came to town, he gave the children silver pieces, but not me, because he could see I was intelligent.spoiler alert: he had periods of sickness as a child; and nearly died. Like the children who lived in those regions at those times.Nowhere near enough about the amazing things that he actually did. You’d learn more from watching the Dr Who episode he featured in.

⭐The book I received is seemingly a pirated copy. There are many grammatical errors and I don’t feel that the printing margins are standard. It seems like a duplicate. For this price, I expected better.

⭐Nicola Tesla autobiography. This is a thin book (maybe half a cm thick) so readable in just a couple of hours. You will be engrossed for those few hours though.
