⭐Great job establishing the setting in which Abel found himself. An often tragic story. If you call yourself a mathematician, you need to read this book about one of the greatest mathematicians ever to live.
⭐Abel’s short life will leave an indellible mark in all mathematicians ( professional and amateur )’s heart. This superb biography will remind us again and pay an respectto this genius. One will be hard to resist sadness aboutreading this book, but fact is fact, history cannot be changed.Let us pay a tribute to this superb genius again by readingthis biography.
⭐This is an excellent book about the norwegian mathematical genius Niels Henrik Abel. This book is also very painfull to read, since it is about a man who dies at only 26 years of age, just before he is to reach to glory. It’s a tragedy. But none the less what he accomplish in his life is just tremendous. This is a real book. And it will not leave you unaffected.
⭐This book focuses too much on Abel’s family than Abel. Sure, this is not an intellectual biography by any means but I expect to learn more about Abel – his struggle for publication, disregarded by his contemporaries, the details of his publications at Acta Mathematica etc. In short, those few pages of Abel’s biography in Bell’s classic book is far more informative than this 500+ pages presented in this book(provided you are a mathematical reader).Verdict – if you are mathematician/mathematically inclined reader than this book is a waste of time. Laymen might find this book interesting though.
⭐The content is fascinating and well researched. However, I don’t know if it’s the translation that is to blame (I can’t judge the original) but the writing style is incredibly tedious. I stumbled on literally every sentence and eventually had to give up. I’ll try again some day, maybe.

⭐Neil’s Abel is my favorite mathematician. This book is a Magnum opus.It has depicted Abel’s life so beautifully that I’m speechless.Thank you dear writer;Thank you Amazon.
