Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐i only got this book becuase i like doing the animated paper models or automatons.so i expected to have to scan the models and reprint them on card stock which was no problem.but the models dont have any color to them so your going to have to scan the pieces and add color or you can use markers or crayons to color them in.also most of the the models are very basic.i found it from an amazon market seller and only paid like $5 so its not that big of a deal.so i wouldnt buy this book just for the models unless maybe you are just getting into making paper models then it might be a good start but other then that i would just do a google search on free paper models or paper automata.there are alot of great websites that have free models for you to print out and make.also the author of the book (rob ives) has a great website for paper automatas that you might want to take a look at

⭐very very very cheap paper print.. cheaper than any other “for dummies” book I ever had before.. I must say that I payed very little for it so I cannot complain about that..About what the book covers: I was looking for a book on pop-ups. The title suggests as much but it’s mainly about paper engineering. And it describes this pretty well I guess.. it’s just not what I was looking for..So the 3 stars are for the quality of the book, not its contents.. that is just bad luck. In a brick and mortar store I would never have bought it.. not even for the price I payed, which all in all (with P&P) is about 14 dollars US.

⭐so anyway i was actually looking for something else and found this instead….i like when that happens….this is an informative product and will hopefully be a good resource for children in my family as they make their way through their creative endeavors…

⭐I bought this for a Christmas present for grandchildren. Haven’t given it to them yet. Hope I can keep from putting it together myself. Looks like fun.

⭐The book provides you with the very basics you need to know. However, I find Carol Barton’s how-to books on paper engineering much more useful, and also, Carter and Diaz’ The Elements of Pop-Ups much better. If you are a beginner, or even if you do know your pop-ups and need some additional pointers, those books are better than this one. As I said, this one is a pretty good basic book.

⭐Fast shipping and nice packaging. This supplement was helpful to my daughter since she had never experienced creting any type of 3 or 4 dimensional art forms..

⭐Dummie or not, a good, fun book. Just the right “speed” for occasional attempts at paper modelling – with sure-fire successful results.

⭐paper quality is bad.. didn’t enjoy the book too.there are much better books out there. sorry

⭐Misleading advertising showing only Book Cover Colour shots, suggesting Colour views are inside too? Volume of text dotted with poor quality Black and White photocopy images of completed projects.Copyright disclaimer quotes 1976 legislation. Publishing Copyright 2009.Very Old Book, Projects belong to another Age. Disappointed not worth the price tag

⭐Not good. A waste of money, there are much better, easier to understand, detailed books out there. The first half of the book is mostly about setting up your craft space, now if I was buying a book about crafting then surely my workspace is already up and running, as are all my tools! Wasted my time reading the first half and then it just is basic folding for the rest of the book. Don’t buy it, find a different one.

⭐A very worth while book for beginners, I bought this as a stocking filler for a grand child who had expressed an interest, the text is easy and perfect for starting out in the complex world of paper engineering.

⭐Just about everything you need to know about making card mechanisms in one place. My only criticism is the quality of the paper used to print the book, grey and thin so that images show through. Other than that it is probably the best source you could get.

⭐Brilliant thank you. Paper quality not as bad as some reviewers found it.
