⭐ I enjoyed the first book… But 3 books in a row become a bit heavy. I will certainly try the next 2 in a few months after some varied material

⭐ Outstanding read. Putting the 3-novel pack together was a master stroke and the 1st time I had the opportunity of following the history. Enthralling.

⭐ This is a real value for money collection and I read it one book after the other. It gave me a quite different view on Katherine of Aragon and her first marriage. I think I will give this collection to my 90 year old mum who is another kindle convert who enjoys the Tudors.

⭐ So this a great deal for these three books! They came in the mail quickly and are all great reads 🙂

⭐ I cannot praise Ms Gregory highly enough. Somehow she manages to bring the various Queens into living breathing beings that almost seem to sit beside us while we read, their unique personalities displayed; and always in the background, his character gradually changing and developing is the towering figure of Henry VIII.I started reading with my Kindle in one hand and iPad in the other, fact checking because some of what is revealed is shocking, and way beyond the realms of primary school Tudor history. It took me no time to understand that the research for these books has been meticulously done

⭐ First of all, this book is very well written. It flows well, and so, you can easily find yourself immersed. I like the events in chronological order – some writers dot-about with the timing of events, which I find confusing and distracting. Philippa Gregory has a profound knowledge of historical facts, which are cleverly interlaced with fiction, to make a plausible story. I found it a clever way to learn history.

⭐ I am so glad I discovered Philippa Gregory’s books and I have read them all in chronological order, starting from The Lady of the Rivers! I am thankful that she has made history so easy to read for me. This box set comes at a great price but as one of the previous reviewer has said accurately, the prints are small and can be quite tiring for the eyes for long read. Other than that, I have no complaints and will continue to purchase the 3 books which came after these 3. I am completely hooked but am happy that I am now more aware of the history of this country.

⭐ Bought this as a gift after watching the White Queen BBC adaptation and falling in love with the idea of history (my word did that REALLY happen) being shown as a drama worthy of well, a TV series!This is Gregory’s most famous trilogy and I can see why. The writing is absorbing and you came about the characters as people rather than names in a dusty history book. I’ve never been a fan of the Anne Boleyn story – I think it’s just a bit too ubiquitous – but actually this take on it for a female perspective has opened up a whole new part of this period for me.Yes there is no doubt some poetic license, and I was definitely imagining Henry VII in his Eric Bana rather than Jared Harris interpretation but as a easy read which has some intelligence this was a great choice.Only downside from this particular edition is that the print is very small – no doubt to make quite meaty books handbag friendly, but it did mean reading by lamplight into the wee small hours of the morning tricky.
