Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐I usually do OK teaching myself programs, and have learned to do some stuff in Photoshop on my own just through poking around, but this book was a real slog. Just like Photoshop, it’s full of non-intuitive terminology and undefined terms. It might be helpful to a graphics geek, or someone with at least a background in graphics theory (if there is such a thing) but I felt my eyes glazing over on most pages, with paragraph after paragraph of Photoshopese that left me baffled. It really isn’t a book for true dummies. I’m not sure you could make a Photoshop guide for true dummies, Photoshop is probably too opaque and esoteric.

⭐Although I previously had CS2 and CS3 I decided to start from “ground zero” with a CS4 “Dummies” book; I have had good luck with this series and found this book to be valuable regardless of whether you are a first time Photoshop user or migrating from a previous version. However, this book may not be advanced and detailed enough for very advanced users of previous versions.

⭐I’m a writer, not an artist, but as an efditor, I’ve used photoshop for years. Lots of elementary things I never understood. This book did it for me, but it depends on your level of PS knowledge to begin with.

⭐INSTRUCTIONAL BOOKS SHOULD HEED AN OLD REQUEST…EXPLAIN IT TO ME LIKE I AM A 5TH GRADER! ALTHOUGH THIS BOOK IS BETTER THAN SOME I HAVE READ, IT DOES LITTLE TO LIVE UP TO ITS TITLE…PHOTOSHOP CS4 FOR DUMMIES! I DON’T FEEL I WAS ANY MORE LEARNED THAN I WAS BEFORE I READ THE BOOK!

⭐it is what it is ….. a book.

⭐It gives a basic overview for the novice…like me. It could use more about filters and layers to aid the novice.

⭐As a new person starting from scratch this book does not give the detail required for learning. I felt it would apply more to someone who has been using photoshop for some time and this book explains a few handy tips. It was not much help at all for me as a beginner

    ⭐Yes it did…

⭐Excellent value, and delivered very promptly. The format of the book is well done, and easy to digest. For me at least it has found a nice balance between loads of information, in a style one can understand. I have never used any photoshop software before, and this book is helping nicely.

⭐A very good series of books and easy to follow for a beginner.

    ⭐Just as advertised

⭐followed the book and still a Dummie

⭐Book is as it is and does as it does!
