    Description

Do you have a handle on basic physics terms and concepts, but your problem-solving skills could use some static friction? Physics Workbook for Dummies helps you build upon what you already know to learn how to solve the most common physics problems with confidence and ease. Physics Workbook for Dummies gets the ball rolling with a brief overview of the nuts and bolts (i.e., converting measures, counting significant figures, applying math skills to physics problems, etc.) before getting into the nitty gritty. If you’re already a pro on the fundamentals, you can skip this section and jump right into the practice problems. There, you’ll get the lowdown on how to take your problem-solving skills to a whole new plane—without ever feeling like you’ve been left spiraling down a black hole. With easy-to-follow instructions and practical tips, Physics Workbook for Dummies shows you how to you unleash your inner Einstein to solve hundreds of problems in all facets of physics, such as:Acceleration, distance, and timeVectorsForceCircular motionMomentum and kinetic energyRotational kinematics and rotational dynamicsPotential and kinetic energyThermodynamicsElectricity and magnetismComplete answer explanations are included for all problems so you can see where you went wrong (or right). Plus, you’ll get the inside scoop on the ten most common mistakes people make when solving physics problems—and how to avoid them. When push comes to shove, this friendly guide is just what you need to set your physics problem-solving skills in motion!

⭐This is the companion book to Physics for Dummies, by the same author. Hence, it follows the same chapter format and layout of that book. This is mostly just a book with problems to practice. There is some explanatory material, but that is kept to a minimum. Like the Physics for Dummies book, this is geared more toward high-school-level (or algebra-based) physics classes. That is not to say it will not help if you are taking calculus-based physics, because it will. The equations and most of the concepts are exactly the same in calculus-based physics as in algebra-based physics classes. However, just know that if you are taking calculus-based physics, some of the problems you will be exposed to are much more difficult than what this will throw at you. But, as a primer to learn physics concepts and get practice working on problems, this is a very good option.

⭐I bought this book as a refresher and it was perfect. The chapters are short, the examples are good, and the flow of the book is great. There were some typos, but nothing that would through you off or keep you from understanding the material. You cannot beat the price, I got a used version for one penny!I used this book as a refresher, but if you are a complete beginner and have never taken any physics courses in high school or in college I would not hesitate into purchasing this book!

⭐I teach Physics and our school does not have a physics text book since we do most of the course work on line. I needed a simple way to fill in the gaps for what we were getting on line and what we were doing in the classroom. The Physics for Dummies series was a great resource. The exercises were practical and easy for the students to understand. I really like the relationship between the books and the workbook. This has been really useful for my students.

⭐As others were saying..there are LOTS of typos and errors in the answers given to the problems. It’s like somebody wrote it in an hour and published it immediately. Also, I expected it to have a lot more problems, and more problems that were more comprehensive. I will say, with due credit, if you work the problems diligently, it does help to give you a basic foundation to build on in an introductory physics course. However, don’t rely on your ability to work these problems to enable you to work more complex problems that you’re presented with in a college level course. Overall, the workbooks ok, but it really needs some overhauling–definetely needs proofreading and corrections made.

⭐Great book i nerve though i could do physics

⭐Strangely, I came to rely on the For Dummies Workbooks for challenging problems so I could push myself a bit. This edition is nice, but the problems are generally too easy to really keep me thinking. This is great review, however, and iterating through different applications of the equations is nice.

⭐Great! Simple problems and formulas. Although not as advanced as a college level text, it s helpful in really understanding the basics. I usually try to avoid certain sections of a typical physics book. This book simply explains complex topics, and the solutions do not require scribbling two pages of logs/trig/integrals.

⭐After having a 4 year break after highschool, I was able to use this book to get up to speed, which saved me a lot of embarrassment of asking very basic questions during the semester.
