User’s Reviews

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐There are three chapters that make this book more than worth the money. First, Powershell in Depth contains a brilliant chapter for accessing the .NET Framework from within Powershell. Since .NET is the technology behind Powershell, this is important knowledge to have. Another cool concept covered in Powershell in Depth are workflows. Workflows give Powershell coders the ability to execute commands in parallel, drastically speeding up many tasks. Powershell in Depth also teaches administrators how to create scripts which utilize a GUI. Creating GUIs for scripts “hide” the Powershell console for non-technical users, and make it simple for them to use tools developed by their systems administrator. Powershell in Depth is great for increasing your Powershell knowledge in areas not typically covered in other books or guides.

⭐I bought this book to learn about PowerShell and it appeared to have positive reviews with regard to the depth and quality of content. That may be true as i’m just starting through the book but i realized this Second Edition was published in 2015, prior to Windows 10 and pror to major updates with PowerShell 5.0 and PowerShellCore 6. I suspect much of the information in this book is still relevant but I made a mistake by not noticing the publication date on Amazon.

⭐Look up date, or time and you have nothing in the index for these basic things. look up env or environment and again nothing. I wished there as a book store near so that I can thumb through the book before purchasing.

⭐This book is was very well written and detailed. If your goal is to learn how to use PowerShell then this book is for you.

⭐This book is by far the best powershell book for the intermediate or professional I have seen to date. The book covers many admin topics and is a great source for any IT professional. I have the book all tabbed out and sitting on my office desk.

⭐Definitive PowerShell guide for intermediate level PowerShell users. This book builds upon the basics to really explain PowerShell concepts. A must read for any intermediate level PowerShell user.

⭐Good reference with lots of information.

⭐best book that explains the rationale for every command and usage.

⭐Great read thus far. Its more of a reference book than just a one-off. Great material to have in your library.

⭐Excellent reference guide. As they say in the book, it is more a reference guide than a tutorial book, but if you have a basic grounding in code then it can be used as a tutorial book just as well.

⭐This is an excellent PowerShell reference manual, highly recommended.

⭐Very good for beginner and intermediate (even adv users will learn from this), probably best on the market from what I have seen.

⭐Fantastic as a PowerShell reference. Goes deep into the PowerShell scripting language.
