Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐Too much medical info, too much weight loss info, too much attitude. I don’t need to figure out if I have prediabetes, my doctor has already done that. I don’t need a lecture about my weight. I don’t need to know how this will affect my sex life. I need to know why some carbs affect my fasting blood sugar more than others even when the count is the same. I need to know if there is a right time after you wake up to check. Do I need to delay eating until a certain point so I can check my blood if I wake up during the “dawn effect” time frame? If I take in fewer carbs than my doctor suggested why is my sugar still high? I’m looking for practical answers and useful suggestions, not gee you shouldn’t buy junk food.

⭐I am impressed with this book. I’m in the process of reading it but so far it’s very informative and easy to follow. I am prediabetic and needed some answers. This book has them. It sure beats all of the chasing around the internet that I have been doing. The “Dummies” series has always been a good one in my opinion.

⭐I appreciated learning how I got to this point, and the author explains several methods for dealing with it. It’s written by a doctor, and he writes like a lay-person so you can understand what he’s talking about. I recommend this highly if you, like me, have been told that you’re pre-diabetic, or even if you’d like to avoid that diagnosis altogether.

⭐I am an RN and this book was recommended by a diabetic patient, and I found it very informative as a shortcut for teaching my patients.

⭐Print is way too small for an older person to read. And too much info crammed in. Dummies books need to be bullet points. This is too complex for a non-medical person.

⭐I usually do not like or buy Dummies books, but this one was very helpful.

⭐While searching for more information about how to eat in order to avoid developing diabetes, I thought this book might do the trick. It did. More than mere fluff and generalizations, this book helped me understand the proper way to eat – the combinations to adopt and why they work – in order to prevent developing diabetes. The balance of exercise and balanced eating became clear and the suggestions and recipes were easy to understand and incorporate into my daily living. I am a great cook, so I wanted to learn the basics of life and food choices more than having recipes and daily food plans to follow. This book enabled that.

⭐Terrific! Just started reading it and already learned that sugar was our childhood bribery and now an adult comfort during stress.

⭐The book doesn’t help in anyway, tells you to talk to your local farmer about what he sprays on his crops (?!) to shop when not hungry, and reminisces about people he has met. Nothing useful at all, very similar to a book encouraging people to lose weight, not how to reverse pre-diabetes etc, very Americanised too, also provides information on Gastric Band Operation, a real waste of money, I’ve been conned 🙁

⭐Good to get these dummies books for things that you get worried about overthinking over googling over YouTubing which only leads to anxiety and panic attacks. These books are helpful, explains in detail everything, nothing left out. No google needed. Unless you lose the book itself, you won’t lose info!

⭐Well priced secondhand book and very informative.

    ⭐Very useful book
