Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐The title of the book is ridiculous. This “for dummies” is an outmoded marketing ploy and frankly insulting and distasteful. Something closer to “For everyone” would be more on point and be more appealing to modern, thoughtful people. Aside from the anachronistically annoying and title which I totally ignore, the book is well written and engaging. It was required for a project management college course so I had to buy it.

⭐This book not only covers the principles of project management, but also give how the material stacks up against PMI certification for each chapter. I found most beneficial the recommendations of how to manage a team, even direct examples of how to say it, and why it is recommended to say that way. I highly recommend this book!

⭐Since my role involves Project Management, this book really helps me to build up the basic knowledge and preparation for something I am unfamiliar with.

⭐This is a good book to get you started especially if you understand PM and have a project ready to go. I was looking for more theory and understanding regarding PM. This has some high level info on the process but not enough for my needs so returning it. Disappointing as want to learn PM in detail. Book well laid out and organized. Sometimes it was a little tough to read as the paper is a bit grey.

⭐This book is a good clarification of principle business process and operations. I learned how projects are designed, why it is important to organize team members and stakeholders, and the active role of management during projects. It offers a lot of examples of scheduling and work task assignments. I would recommend this book as an intermediate intro for all marketing, sales, and team management members.

⭐It is an easy read and explains things very well. It builds up by chapter to tie it all together

⭐Great study guide and I also use this as a reference as needed

⭐I’ll use the language in this book to communicate with my managers and gives me a picture of what they are doing. Takes the mystery out of work. I’ll look at and prepare projects in my daily jobs

⭐I bought this book for a friend who wanted to get started in project management, but had no experience in the field at all. As an introduction to the subject, I found it quite good. The organization is good (could be better), the tone is light enough to not overwhelm, and the overview of project management terminology and practice is good (but again, could be better, although possibly at the risk of overwhelming the reader). For anyone with some basics in project management, this book won’t do too much to help advance their state of knowledge, though. This is the current version of a book this has been around for a while; I bought the last version for another friend and she was quite pleased with the ramp in knowledge the book offered, and while I haven’t compared the last version and this current one, I’m guessing there has been some additional content introduced. The book starts with a gentle introduction to project management and what a PM does, followed by a look at defining the driving factors in a project, who the stakeholders are, and how to go about setting up a fairly basic project plan. Chapters deal with communications to the team, tracking and updates, changes to project plans, and wrapping up a project. There’s not a focus on any specific tool, but on the process involved in setting up and tracking project items. There’s a brief description of critical path methodology, but not as much as I would have liked. Also, I would have liked to see more on what to do when things go sour, how to handle prioritization, and the differences between technical project management and simple project management, but that can be a follow-on for most people after this book has been digested. As mentioned earlier, this is a good “first book” but not as useful for those who already have the basics. As such, the market is pretty specific and the book does a good job of introducing the subject and practice.

⭐This book was required for a course I was taking on project management. There are some very helpful tips and guidelines for managing projects, but it feels like the book is much longer than it needs to be. There is an excess of information that I found unhelpful or even useless. Overall, I would search for a different resource if your are learning about project management.

⭐Wie alle Titel dieser Serie, liest er sich leicht, weil optisch sehr user-friendly, ist dennoch auch ausführlich. in Project Management bin ich aber nur Einsteiger.

    ⭐Not found.

⭐I am starting on this field to get a PMP certificate and this book has met all my expectations. This book is written an easy way to understand because English is not my native language. High quality, content and clear. Five stars

⭐Book is not in new condition. The cover is torn in bottom and you can feel that it has been through many hands.
