Nelson is a CPA in Redmond, Washington. Nelson has an undergraduate degree in accounting, a master of business administration degree in finance, and a master of science degree in taxation. He’s spent more than two decades helping individuals and businesses manage their finances — usually, in part, by better use of computer systems such as Quicken. More recently, he’s worked as a sole proprietor. When he wasn’t doing CPA-type work, he served as controller of a small, 50-person computer software company, and then as a book publisher. As corny as it sounds, Steve truly enjoys writing books that make using personal computers easier and more fun. In fact, a substantiated rumor that appeared first in The Wall Street Journal says Steve has written more than 150 computer books. Steve is the best-selling author on the Quicken product. In fact, Wiley recently tallied up Steve’s Quicken For Dummies sales — and lo and behold if we haven’t printed more than one million copies! Read more

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐The book was almost useless. The person that wrote it did just as I finally did. Trial and error. The program has hundreds of functions and I’ll never know how to use a fraction of them and the book didn’t help me with even the simplest processes.

⭐My husband set up Quicken on his computer and used an obscure feature (class) to make “virtual” sub-accounts for our checking account. He passed away and I could not figure out how to manage the classes. This book explained the concept and I finally understood. It answered my question a little more clearly than the “official guide” book did.

⭐This book, like almost all of the “Dummies” books is a gret learning tool for someone who is new to Quicken. The tongue-in-cheek humor and easy to read layout gives the absolute beginner the knowledge necessary to be up and running with Quicken in a very short time. I purchased this book for my mother who is over 70 years old and within a couple of days she had set up her accounting process for her at-home business. Another great “Dummies” title !!

⭐This is exactly what I needed. It is nice not to have to do the trial and error approach to learning a new program. This book explains Quicken beautifully.

⭐Big help

⭐Great book.

⭐This book assumes that “You have a PC with MS Windows 95….or Vista” Mac users shouldn’t bother.

⭐I bought this for the Theodosia Area Volunteer Fire Department to update their bookkeeping practices and then they decided not to use it.
