⭐Very well written textbook on measure theoretic probability. It will take you from the basics to advanced techniques and results gently through all the necessary functional analysis and topology that you will likely ever need. In fact, the book can be used as textbook for an independent course on measure theory or functional analysis. Professor Robert B. Ash is a master at mathematical exposition — all his books are very lucid. There is a 2nd edition of this book with some new material added (ergodic theory, stochastic integration) and some deleted (a section on topological vector spaces, a 30+ pages chapter interplay between measure theory and topology, a 30+ pages appendix on general topology); everything else remains the same. If I were you I’d stick with the original edition, at a great value.
