⭐This book is a great companion to understanding all of Shakespeare’s plays. It gives background information on the life and times of England during the Elizabethan and Jacobean eras along with helping to digest the Shakespearean language.

⭐I am a theater major and part of my major is learning how to read understand Shakespeare and this book give u every thing to know about the basics. I used this book a lot.

⭐Just a terrible, terrible book. I bought this for a Shakespeare class and not one student , I’m not kidding, found it useful.

⭐My daughter uses this book for her English Lit A2 and finds it very helpful and insightful

⭐Lots of basic critical informations, up a bit dry and dense at times. More application to specific texts would have been useful.
