Description
A US State Senator is dead. Only Mark Sway knows where the body is hidden.
And he’s eleven years old.
The FBI want him to tell them where it is, regardless of the risk to the boy and his family.
The killer wants to silence him permanently.
Reggie Love has only been practising law for five years, but she agrees to represent Mark pro bono, knowing she’s his best hope for survival. Against the twin threats of the cold-hearted American state and the schemes of a cold-blooded killer, Reggie must fight the case of her life.
Or it might be the last case of her life.

Review “Grisham at his best.”—The Atlanta Journal“Engrossing . . . Grisham keeps the pages of The Client turning faster than lawyers can scribble on legal pads.”—San Francisco Chronicle“The desire to find out what happens next keeps the reader turning the pages. Grisham is an absolute master of the chase story.”—The Washington Post “Heart-pounding . . . fast-paced.”—The Orlando Sentinel –This text refers to the mass_market edition.

⭐ This book became a pretty good movie. I read it years ago when I still bought every book this author wrote. This second read left me not nearly as satisfied. The story is good, it is just not presented as coherently as I remembered it. The ending is awful, no come uppance for the idiot prosecutor that we get to see, the Mafia dude still lives so where does that go? Just not satisfying. The kid is a great character though street smart, so much older than his actual age, yet scared and in such need of love and security. It is worth the read I think, but other Grisham books are better.
⭐ This was different. Full disclosure-I’m an unapologetic John Grisham fan! I’ve randomly read many Grisham books. Recently, I decided to read the complete library in the order written. “The Client,” is entertaining in that the main character is an intelligent and adventuresome child, kind of a Mark Twain feel. As with all Grisham books, in my experience, the story gripped me from the start and didn’t let go. I’m always asking what’s coming next for this character or that one. This is not the usual intense courtroom drama, but it will keep you guessing. Good story!
⭐ Dear Mr Grisham; Please consider writing another book about Mark and his family when Mark is in his twenties! What a great story it would be! I have been reading for 66 years and your book is on the very TOP of my list! Thanks, Collette Bills, Lincoln, Nebraska
⭐ I have read this book three times over years.Every reread confirm John Grisham’s skills at unfold a story with suspenses and surprises. But its good surprise, its not like some writers trying to hold back details or information and made a twist that makes you feel like fooled. His surprise has a nice logic behind it so you feel convinced instead of aggravated.Of course there are stereotypes, the good guys and the bad guys, which are not very subtle. But it is so close to our daily life experience so that you feel the same sympathy or dislike.Great work, fun read.
⭐ I think I have read most Grisham books but for some reason had missed The Client until now. The book was captivating with intriguing characters and many twists and turns. I was sorry to see it end.
⭐ I love this story. I’ve read this book before, I’ve seen the movie, I know the story, but it’s a really goog read. Actually I like the stories from this era of his writing better than some of the new writings.Read this book again. If you don’t care for it I’ll take the blame. Go for it
⭐ Has all the elements of a great story. Innocence , action, drama, excitement, intrigue, love, intelligence, stupidity of people, family, mafia, cops, hospital, and above all a kid that outwits everyone. Highly recommend it.
