⭐My rating comes with a big proviso. This book is only for people who have a Ph.D level background in math and physics and who want to understand the detailed history of quantum mechanics. It is NOT at all for a general reader. However, for anyone who wants to pin down the details of what went on between 1900 to around 1960 with theoretical explanations, citations of experiments with fairly complete references, the book is indispensable. I read it back around 1970 or so while I was a university physics professor and thought it might be interesting to recall some details of the troubled time prior to 1925 when people were trying to grapple with the seemingly logical contradictions at the heart of physics. Since copies sell for upwards of $100 or so, one should not only have the background to delve into it, but also be in a position where one does not have access to a library owning it.
