⭐This book correctly represents itself as a collection of “Marvels, Novelties, and Neglected Gems That Are Rarely Taught in Math Class.” And it’s a shame that these topics are not routinely covered in math class, because their delightful nature inspires students to want to learn more. In addition, studying these topics deepens students’ understanding by revealing the connections among seemingly separate topics.If you are looking for a basic tutorial on the standard Common Core topics, look elsewhere. If you are looking to delight and inspire your students, I highly recommend this book.

⭐I gave this e-book as a birthday present and my husband loved it.

⭐The explanation spanning pages 14-15 doesn’t make sense. The author states that all of the multiples of 9 will be represented as 9M. So he gets N=(9M+1)*a+(9M+1)*b+(9M+1)*c+(9M+1)*d+e. What you really have is N=(9999+1)*a+(999+1)*b+(99+1)*c+(9+1)*d+e. Regrouping terms N=9999a+999b+99c+9d+a+b+c+d+e pulling out the 9 vyeilds N= 9*(1111a+111b+11c+d)+a+b+c+d+e. Since the first part is multiplied by 9 it must be divisible by 9, so if the sum a+b+c+d+e is divisible by 9 the number abcde is too. The author’s use of 9M to mean 9999, 999, 99, and 9 is one equation doesn’t make sense.

⭐A great book full of interesting facts to entice nonmathematical readers to become very interested. I enjoyed this book even though I have had extensive maths education as part of an engineering degree.

⭐The product arrived on time as promised and in excellent condition. The book is ideal for inculcating interest in mathematics in secondary school students.
