Best known for his mathematical and creative logic puzzles and games, he was also a concert pianist and a magician. He wrote over a dozen books of logic puzzles and texts on mathematical logic. ⭐I have bought this book several times, as gifts for others and for myself. It starts with a number of pretty easy puzzles to get the mind thinking about things in the right way, then the puzzles get more tricky, but are still based in the fundamentals of logic. Smullyan clearly loves what he does, and his somewhat nerdy passion comes across brilliantly in this book. His explanations to each puzzle are extremely thorough and orient the reader to think about things correctly for future puzzles in the book. I have taught logic for several years and would recommend this book to anyone interested in developing their reasoning skills in a fun, interesting way.

⭐I was expecting to read many different logic questions, each being a paragraph long (or, perhaps, two or three paragraphs long).The book starts off that way, for just a few questions.Then the book goes into long stories, which is not my cup of tea.Not that the stories are not a challenge. It simply is not stated anywhere in the advertising, nor on the back cover, that that would be nearly the entire book’s challenges.Cheers!

⭐As a writer, I am suddenly working with PhD’s, mathematicians, logicians, physicists, and whatever. This book is really helping my brain to be more logical (did I say I am a writer, an artist, not a math type person?). I am really forced to think, and to use logic. I love this book.

⭐This book is a true gem.The progression of the difficulty is quite good, and the way the logic problems are introduced in the form of riddles that are part of a bigger story keeps you interested on it.I totally recommend it.

⭐Good book for testing logical abilities, but somewhat repetitive in its exercises.

⭐You need a sharp mind to the get the right answers, I enjoyed it.

⭐I teach gifted 4th – 6th grade children and the logic puzzles are just what they need to develop strong thinking skills. I was pleasantly surprised how many good puzzles were found in the publication.

⭐I used this book long ago, translated in Russian with my kids to have some fun and to improve their logic thinking, now I will use it with my grand kids.Great book!
