User’s Reviews
Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:
⭐This sequel surpasses its predecessor. This book has a very smart plot enacted by believable characters. It is well worth the reader’s time.
⭐Truly enjoyed every page of this book. It is so different from anything else I’ve read. Would recommend it to everyone!
⭐A disappointment after loving the first in the series. The dialog (especially early on) was awkward. And someone needs to go back and proofread more carefully …
⭐Exciting story for the first couple rounds of intrigue but after about a third of the book, it just feels like it’s going in circles. I can’t believe I tried a second one of this author’s books! Don’t waste your time.
⭐The Lazarus Continuum by Ken Fry is book 2 of The Resurrection Chronicles, sequel to the award-winning The Lazarus Succession. It picks up the story seventeen years later, where we find Brodie and Ulla right back in the thick of things, this time with Martha, their teenaged daughter, and Condesa Maria, the one woman who knows first-hand the awesome power of Brodie’s enigmatic painting, The Raising of Lazarus. These heroes have come together to keep the miraculous artwork from falling into the hands of a pair of nefarious villains, and along the way they each discover new truths about themselves, about one another, and about the Lazarus legacy itself. The Lazarus Continuum is just the kind of sequel I would have expected from Ken Fry; jam-packed with action and adventure, tentacles of intrigue reaching to all corners of the globe, and just a splash of the metaphysical for extra spice. It is billed as a stand-alone, and it could certainly be read as such, but do yourself a favor and start from the beginning. Ken Fry is a master at crafting wonderfully-complex characters, and it is a sheer joy see how they adapt and evolve as he throws them mercilessly into harm’s way again and again. But heroes and villains and those caught somewhere in the middle aside, for me it was Martha who truly stole the show. No spoilers here, but as the offspring of two loving, yet terribly conflicted parents, Martha displayed some of the best (and possibly worst) traits of both, and she kept me guessing right up to the end.No word yet on whether or not there will be a third book in the series, but I hope there is, and I wouldn’t bet against it. Something tells me that these people aren’t done getting themselves into trouble quite yet.
⭐A story that spans eight centuries, of religion. The paintings of the rising of Laarus, that have been lost. Said to be icons, or to hold miraculous powerSpell binding account of that time. This is the sequels and well done, intriguing as all the author’s stories are. Given audio for my voluntary review
⭐I enjoyed the adventure of this very well written book. I am only sorry that the author found it necessary to use profane language throughout it. There are thousands upon thousands of voratious readers who do not use profanity and do not enjoy being assaulted by it while reading an excellent book which would definitely hold it’s own without it.
⭐Ken Fry’s books just pull you in and you have to find out what happens to the characters. I have enjoyed bingeing on his stories.
⭐A bit of a hesitant start but hang on in there because at around 15% the typos etc have faded away and you can settle in to another rattling good tale of Brodie & co. The story is very similar to the previous book but none the worse for that with new characters added to our old chums and I especially loved the vivid descriptions of the new painting and really enjoy the supernatural element. It’s difficult to describe my pleasure in reading this book without giving the plot away so, if you are wondering whether or not to buy a copy – just do it, you will be glad that you did. Enjoy
⭐Too many thrillers are the same at the moment. This book is just a little bit different as it adds Christian mysticism to a thrilling story – and gets away with it. Art is the background, history is the driver and the characters are strong and believable. This is well worth a read – as is the first book. It is best to read them in order.I am hoping the author finds the time to make it a trilogy.
⭐This was well worth waiting for and I especially enjoyed seeing how Ken Fry further developed the character of the Condessa. The story was pacey, intelligent and a compelling read. Now if the author could just resist using exotic similes I would be a very happy reader
⭐I love this follow up book,it even surpasses the first book.Keep on writing this type of book please Ken Fry …
⭐Great read. Very entertaining book.
