⭐The book is without the cover!!!

⭐Math is at graduate level, and I battle with following it. Discussion and conclusions are insightful. I bought this book to have a mathematical treatment of Paul Davies more recent (1995) book, About Time, which I enjoyed.

⭐Davies’ Ph.D thesis work and associated publications with the Wheeler-Feynman (WF) Theorem, which placed emitters of particles on equal footing with absorbers–an approach that was inspired by the existence of both retarded and advanced solutions to the wave equation in general and that of electromagnetic waves in particular. It is of interested that the WF view has been taken yet another step further by the development of the Transactional Interpretation (TI) of quantum mechanics proposed by John Cramer in 1986 and then taken a bit further by Ruth Kastner in her fairly recent publications and even more recent book

⭐.In addition to the WF Theorem, Davies addresses time and reversibility in terms of thermodynamics, statistical mechanics, and special relativity.

⭐Caution: You will need to have taken a college course in Classical Dynamics, Statistical Mechanics and Electrodynamics to understand this book.I wonder if Davies had Reichenbach’s Direction of Time in mind when he wrote this. He makes a great number of points that Reichenbach did not. What a read!
