⭐This book is packed with a lot of information about the Schrodinger equation, in one and several dimensions. Some highlights (for me): a proof that Hamiltonians with highly repelling potentials are not essentially self-adjoint; the oscillation theorem, which says that the n-th eigenfunction for a 1-d Schrodinger operator has exactly n zeros; an analysis of periodic potentials in one and several dimensions; a treatment of various quantization schemes, including path-integral quantization. There is also a supplement reviewing spectral theory, including the notion of rigged Hilbert spaces, which gives a precise meaning to the idea of “eigenvectors” that aren’t actually in the Hilbert space. There are a lot of things here that are not, for example, in Reed and Simon–although I certainly recommend those books as well!
