    User’s Reviews

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐This book has lots of information, but sadly not one word about the Aid and Attendance benefit for elderly veterans. That is what I was most interested in for my parents, not how to travel or buy a retirement home. The majority of the info pertains to vets who served at least 20 years and get a retirement pension.

⭐This would have been great in 2008-09. It is now 2020. Some programs don’t even exist anymore and there are so new programs that are not even mentioned in here. So, unless you can time travel, stay away from this outdated book!

⭐Very in lighting. There is a lot of information in this book but I did find one incorrectness. The writer said there was no place where all of our info is kept. Last year 2013 I started the process of opening my USMC file and my Vet rep, sent off for my history. I was sent all of it! From the date I enlisted, all my medical records and every ship, place and time I ever made a move, all my awards and up to my last days and where I departed the service.

⭐Full of good info, which could also just be found online. Thought it would dice more into the VA process but rather it kinda just gives points of contact. Not that the book is bad, it’s just written for the slower people.

⭐I really liked this book as it was easy to read. However it did not fully cover agent orange. It is a reference book that we will use.

⭐Excellent source of informaiton. I am fininshing my 23 year Air Force Career and want to make sure I get all I am entitled to. The VA is a crazy bruatic web of sh*t and this book explains it so you can understand. It does not “dumb it down” to the point you feel “dumb” it simp[ly places the information in lawman’s terms so a fairly educated person can understand.

⭐I was a dummy for buying this book. It is very poorly written. I wasted my money. All of the information contained in this book is available on the Veterans Administration website for free. There are three non-profit Veterans service organizations that offer free Veterans benefits guidance in understanding and applying for benefits: The Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and The American Legion. They have offices located in every Veterans Administration Office and have posts in most towns and cities. (They also help the Veteran’s family members.) Every state has Veterans Service Officers as well.

⭐We are currently going through a part of our lives that we need to reach out and see what kind of help is available. This book explains things in easy to understand terms and will help us discuss our options.
