⭐excellent. Perhaps more useful for philosophy students.

⭐I expect that the average lay reader (like me) would approach this book expecting a survey of world religions. From the get-go, however, it’s quickly understood (although never explicitly stated) that this is a book about Christian Theology. Apparently in academic circles theology is sometimes understood as a uniquely Christian pursuit. Who knew? That said, it’s actually pretty handy. The book is arranged as a series of short essays, far from exhaustive but touching on many important points. The essays aren’t more than a couple of pages each and includes a short bullet list of important concepts and people at the end of each one.Unfortunately, Rayment-Pickard’s academic biases occasionally get the better of him. In a few places he seems especially fussy over minutiae that will seem unimportant to most readers. Some articles reflect a viewpoint that is out of step with general consensus (see especially “Atonement”) but is not acknowledged as such.

⭐This book is a huge achievement. How Hugh Rayment-Pickard distills each concept down to a clear, easy to understand and elegant summary is nothing short of phenomenal. It’s like a theology education in a tardis. I just loved the format. I only wished I had a book like this in every field.

⭐Very interesting book with a clear summary of the key consepts with a great reading list for further information

    ⭐Excellent book.

⭐I’m sure it will be a good read; but my Kindle version lacks the index of topics and names, from the end of the book. What has happened to it?
