Description

The case is about the explicit book “The Seven Minutes”, which some people consider pornography, while others, Barret included, feel is impressive literature. The main focus of the prosecution’s case is a teenager who bought the book, and was soon after arrested for rape. According to the prosecution, the book insinuated the boy to do what he did, so it must be banned.

The novel follows the course of the trial, as both Barret and the prosecutor search for reputable witnesses to prove their side.

⭐ This review is difficult for me to write; because, I had a mistaken impression about it. I thought THIS was THE BOOK. However, this book is about the TRIAL about the book. As Irving Wallace goes, is shows his style and his powerful use of words. So, I kept it as a valuable addition to my home library. That is why I made an attempt to read it. However, I found all of the political maneuvering and legal complications made the action slow going and, in general, confusing to me. Maybe I will attempt this at a later date. I do recommend it, however, for those who enjoy Irving Wallace or cases-in-court.

⭐ I am so pleased with the experience I’ve had with this retailer! The first book they sent was more loved than I had anticipated from the description. Normally, this wouldn’t be a problem but I had bought this as a gift for a friend who had been looking for this book. I let them know the book was for a gift and I needed it to be a bit better quality. They immediately replied and sent me a second book that was in good condition as described and actually told me to keep the first book. To me, this is a company I want to do business with for my future book needs.

⭐ Have been looking for this book for years. Controversial subject – regretted not buying it when it was first released.

⭐ It has been many years since I read this book, and as I recall, it was quite controversial for its time. A certain person of prominence, using a fictitious name, writes a novel regarding a woman’s sexual experience and what she thought about during this encounter. The book becomes banned, and then there is a court trial to determine if the book is pornography or not. The court trial is awesome, and the ending is a complete surprise. All I can say is that when this book ended, I was so upset because I just wanted to keep reading. This was definitely a book which was next to impossible to put down. As I said, I read this many, many years ago, and it still stays in my mind. To say this novel is well worth the read is definitely an understatement.

⭐ I do enjoy a story that tells how and why a trial is taking place.I had read this book about 40 years ago and was hesitant about re reading but am so glad I did.Most enjoyable.

⭐ Excellent fiction..a nice read…a must for law students… Though the books is written in 1960 it is very relevant today…unbelievable author

⭐ This is a classic by Irving Wallace. However the publisher, Mastermind Books, has done a very shabby job of printing and binding the book. It’s a shame. Amazon ought to do a quality check of its sellers to safeguard its own reputation.
