⭐ James Hadley Chase was one of the great crime thriller writers of the forties and fifties. In this terrific 1953 crime thriller, Chase makes a hardboiled hero out of a wealthy businessman and in the process covers quite a bit of territory. Indeed, Chase gives us blackmail, murder, frame-ups, dirty cops, cheating spouses, feuding brothers, serial killers, and more. The story is as fast-paced and filled with action as any you could find and just a whole lot of fun to read.Nick English, the main character, is not your typical down on his luck detective. He’s more like a Tony Stark of Ironman fame with a cadre of attorneys, fixers, and secretaries supporting his every move.Chase, once upon a time, was a renowned author and many if his novels have been made into movies. This book shows you why.

⭐ I’ve been love in Chase from 1991 when I was able read it only on Russian. Now I do it in English, and pretty enjoy it. Very good thriller!

⭐ A very badly scanned book being sold by Kindle on their site. A lot of spelling mistakes and sentences gone awryI hope Kindle checks the books being sold on their site for print quality.Hope they can give me a better scanned copy or a refund else I will never buy from Kindle againI am very disappointed with Kindle’s service based on this one bad shopping experience.I suggest all buyers of books from Kindle’s website sample a book before buying so they do not have the same bad experience as me.

⭐ This is a noir classic that defines itself by its fast paced, page turner plot. Unexpected twists and turns throughout. Thoroughly enjoyable.

⭐ The bodies really pile up in this mystery novel. It seems that whenever the author ran out of ideas he decided to kill off another character. None of the characters are well developed. The novel also contains elements of the romance novel, indicative of the publisher, Harlequin.
