⭐The advantage to this book were clear details on math instruction without the interference of modern pop computer commercial dogma

⭐I am an electrical engineering student, and currently studying electromagnetism and matrix theory. This is an excellent book for students studying differential equations. My professor for my engineering math course used this exact book. I would also recommend it for multivariable calculus and linear algebra students. I constantly use it as reference material to brush up on line and surface integrals, and vector analysis. Old math books have a tendency to be very exact and tedious, and because of this, it requires the student or reader to have a “mathematical maturity” – by this I mean you have to have a strong background in calculus, and an understanding of mathematical notations. This book is really a treasure, one I will be using for the rest of my student and professional career.

⭐This book is a real gem. I use it as a reference for several topics – vector calculus, electrical circuits, differential equations, and matrix theory. I own both the 2nd edition and the 3rd edition. Both are excellent. The third edition contains a chapter on tensor analysis which is very beneficial to any physics student, and in a way completes the book. My Engineering mathematics professor (a class in standard ordinary linear differential equations) used this book to teach from, and I have been using it ever since. I recommend this book for any student in engineering, mathematics, and physics. Why buy an expensive text book? Who needs pretty full colored pictures? Just get this very concise and clear book..
