⭐If you are looking for a smokin hot, short read, then this is the book. Packed with plenty of emotions, sexy chemistry and action.Evan Alexander is hiding. Not only physically, because of his scars but also emotionally, not able to forgive himself for the crash or the death of his partner. Evan is no longer the pretty boy of 5 years ago, married and living the good life. But to the people of Wallaby Ridge, he is a hero risking his life to save those surrounded by the fire that covered half of the Mutawintji National Park. A dangerous job, but the best job in world, in Evan’s opinion, even though he dreaded every minute.Jenna McGarth, a reporter sent in to cover the raging inferno is searching for the hero to interview. She could not be more shocked when she comes face to face with the man who filled her fantasies 5 years ago. A man who had been married to her best friend. Evan cannot believe it when confronted by the women who had stirred his senses from the very second he’d met her. Jenna is a beautiful, intelligent news reporter from the Big Smoke, covering a wild fire in Wallaby Ridge. Evan has just flown his helo in & saved the firefighters trapped in the blaze. They are calling him a hero, Jenna wants to interview said hero. Evan sees her first, those eyes, that face, he’s dreamt of her since he met her 6 years ago. Jenna can’t believe her eyes, it’s Evan, but not the cocky one she knew. She has always wanted him, but he belonged to her best friend! She knew that they had divorced, but didn’t know why. Evan pointed out to her, the obvious reason she left. Tracey couldn’t stand the sight of him & his scarred body, said he was broken & couldn’t be married to him anymore. Jenna finds herself falling for the man he is now, but can Evan get passed the opinion of others, to see what is right in front of him? He pushes her away, one too many times. His friend Ryan points out his stupidity, but has he realized it too late? Can he catch her before she returns to home, or has he missed his last chance at happiness? Lex, you have managed to write an amazing story of courage, intensity, passion and a fear of the unknown. ⭐I really liked Evan’d story. He’s damaged and scarred but has a good heart. Worth reading.Can be read as stand alone.

⭐This novella might only be a quick read but it has enough action and emotion to leave you feeling scorched by the end. Evan is a wounded man, as much by the emotional scars as from the ones burned across his body. Five years ago he made an egotistical mistake that saw him lose almost everything. Now he’s back fighting another raging bushfire, flying his helicopter above the blaze and trying not to let anyone die. If the memories of his past weren’t bad enough, one of the news reporters chasing him down is a woman he thought was far behind him – but that he’s always wanted to keep as close as possible.Evan might once have been the most gorgeous man Jenna had ever met, but the brooding, scarred man she finds fighting the bushfire is ten times more attractive. But she’s got her work cut out getting past his fierce barriers. I loved how Jenna went about it. Evan is so closed-off, so hurt by everything that’s happened to him that he can’t accept anyone would want him, but Jenna is so honest and doesn’t flinch from the truth. Their interactions are hot but also surprisingly tender. The way she breaks down his barriers is wonderful.However, because this is short I did feel that a few things were resolved far too easily. Five years of suffering turned around with one conversation… yeah, not the best, but I’ll blame that on the format and enjoy the rest of the story because this is really good. The action is fierce, the romance is hot and the glimpses of Evan’s friends are fun and enjoyable. If you’re looking for a fast, hot, exciting read with strong emotions and a happy ending, then I definitely recommend this. I think I need to see what else this author has to offer.(I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.)

⭐This is definitely a novella done right. Burn for You is a second chance at love story that is as emotion grabbing as it is a satisfying happily ever after. The premise is strong and the characters are stronger! The hero has scars, both open and hidden. The heroine is strong enough to help him confront his scars and also to be there for the long haul as he conquers them. The premise is born out beautifully by the plot, and though it is a fast read, it is definitely not a lightweight read. I see that it is part of a series, but I did not feel lost or cheated by not having read any others. If you like a novella with compelling, layered characters (quite a feat within the format) and a solid story, check this one out.*I received my copy from NetGalley.com in exchange for an honest review.

⭐I am a huge Lexxie fan but this book hit home with me due to personal life experience. If you haven’t started this series it’s a must!
