User’s Reviews

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐I did not purchase this book from Amazon, I found it for less at another online source. Had I been able to see the book in person, I would not have purchased even at the discounted price because it was not at all what I expected. I guess I should clarify what I expected; a book with a variety of brain twisters, teasers, and puzzles that went beyond ‘word search’ type time fillers. I wanted something that actually required some thought, requiring me to engage my brain, and with a variety of types of puzzles in quantity for about a year’s worth of mental exercise. Now for what this book is; an in-depth collection of word puzzles, all of which are mathematical. I did very well in all areas of math when in school but I simply never enjoyed lengthy word problems. Forty years later I find that is still the case, I do not care for this type of puzzle and, unfortunately, that is solely what the book is comprised of. To its credit, there are detailed solutions for each problem. However, that part is considerable more than half of the book! For me personally, this book is actually a single star but I am giving it credit for being well written and challenging. I am taking away stars for it not being titled or subtitled appropriately for what it actually is.

⭐I really enjoyed how this book was broken down into a number of problems per week, and that they got increasingly more mathematical. I love these types of problem solving games and its tough to find books that are worthwhile. This one is a keeper.
