⭐This book is VERY outdated. The current version of Final Cut Pro is X (10). This book was written as version 4 was released (2004). I did not really notice the date when I ordered it, but none of the screen shots are valid for current versions of Final Cut Pro. I had to return it as it was worthless to me.

⭐Wow!! Shipping was so fast. Really needed this book because it’s been a while since I made an edit using final cut. Needed the refresher course.

⭐Not particularly helpful or easy to use. Honestly, none of the books on Final Cut Pro are. Final Cut Pro–well, it’s just incredibly difficult to learn. They’ve made it way too complicated.

⭐I’ve had wome one-on-one training on Final Cut Pro but this book helps fill in the gaps. I’m just getting into it but so far it’s been a real help.

⭐A good writer has the ability to make a how to book, into an interesting read.

⭐Note: For Mac users only. But then again, most of the people wanting to do things like edit movies are using a Mac already.Final Cut Pro HD, is the latest version of the Final Cut program. HD stands for High Definition, and this version is indeed capable of editing HD video. But like with a lot of other software packages, the basic tools that you will use every day form the basics of the package, and they can be learned in a short time. Then as you reach points where you want to do more you can go back to the book to catch up on each point as you need it.Final Cut is suitable for editing the movies showing you new baby, or if you really want to you can use it to get just about as sophisticated as you need for that feature length film you are making with your A-List actor friends. As with all the For Dummies books, this book isn’t really for dumb people, it is for people that are just un trained on this particular package. It’s a good book.

⭐The book was published in 2004 so is over 12 years old. All menus are very out of date (look like the Mac version of Windows ’95) system requirement are so old (512MB of ram required) and it’s just generally so old and out of date that it’s pointless – especially for £25!

⭐This book refers to a very old version of Final Cut Pro and is completely irrelevant for Final Cut Pro X. It still talks about loading material from a DV tape! Only helpful if you have a very outdated version of the software.

⭐I’m a Pro editor and I still found this helpful.

⭐A very useful book for anyone starting off in digital video editing. Also useful as a reference for those with a bit more knowledge. Worth the couple of quid it cost. Arrived in good nick and on time.
