Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:
⭐Although the book is very informative, it doesnt show how to clip my dogs. This is why I bought this book in the first place.I have Cavaliers and there is no mention of this breed and so this is of no use to me which is a shame.
⭐I checked out several dog grooming manuals from the library and ended up selecting this one to purchase! This book paid for itself four times over the first month! The instructions and photos are easy to follow!
⭐I liked the writer’s style; liked her personal input mixed in with the facts. There was a little humor injected, which was refreshing. After 25 years working in a Veterinary Clinic, and managing it as well as a few Groomers, I found there was still a lot to learn!
⭐Not sure who this book is for but I thought it was a waste of my money.
⭐I am trying to learn how to use clippers for some of our dogs and it is coming along. The book seems more geared to those who want to be professional groomers and I was hoping it was for dummies that need to shave dogs at home.
⭐helpful to get you started and understand the basics of dog grooming yourself. some humor added as well keeps it from being a boring read.
⭐I like this book very much. Explains everything so easily.Lori in NH
⭐When you think of grooming, one obviously thinks of – HAIR CUT right???? I thought that was a no brainer…wellthe book does not address anything to do with clipping yer dogs hair.My advice is do not waste your money. This was the most unsatisfied I have ever been with a book.
⭐Bought this whilst doing my grooming qualification as an aide memoire. It lacks adequate explanation on *how* to groom a dog well and safely, so the amateur wanting to home groom their dog is none the wiser. For example, it will say things like “clip the body” without telling you the best technique to use that is safe for your dog, or that will produce the best result. Avoid.
⭐Far too much on feeding the dog etc……not what I wanted or needed. Loads of info on poodle cuts….something else I didn’t need. Really wanted more tips on the general use of clippers and scissors with a few pictures to help visualise what was meant. All in all a big disappointment for one of the dummies books
⭐Bought this for my portuguese water dog grooming. It is informative and has lots of advice, but advice like how to hold a squirmy dog for clipping its face, or how to pull hair out of its ears etc was a bit lacking. Techniques on how to hold a dog and where when grooming is lacking in here.
⭐It doesn’t have specific enough instructions, and no diagrams or pictures that helped me. Perhaps I am more of a dummy than I thought.
⭐Great book on explaining the basics of dog grooming! Doesn’t go into much detail on particular breed standards but I would recommend this read for anyone looking to start dog grooming.
