Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:
⭐I loved this book. I’m a massage therapist and I read this while in my third trimester. I started massaging my baby the day he was born while in the hospital. The techniques and information are easy to learn and my baby loves his massages. I definately recommend this.
⭐I was definitely leery of reading a “Dummies” book, but to my pleasant surprise, it is an excellent resource for baby massage. I have another baby massage book which doesn’t go into nearly as much detail. The authors, who are both immensely qualified, first introduce the benefits of baby massage in the book, then go through a complete step by step routine with examples and illustrations starting with the legs, arms, chest, abdomen, face and neck, then proceeding with exercises while the baby is on its stomach or side, including the backs of the legs, arms, etc. They also go into great detail about the type of routine that should be performed on infants, babies, and toddlers. The little hints and warnings are incredibly useful as are the parts that deal with different ailments which baby massage can help relieve. I will be buying this book for my friends with babies!Note: I have the kindle edition and it is great, still includes pictures and illustrations.
⭐This book says that if you use an epidural you increase the risk of your child becoming a drug addict—a completely unsubstantiated and irresponsible statement that does not belong in a any book.
⭐I’m turned off by these dummies books. Is there ANYthing they don’t have a book on. ANd I’m not a dummy. It’s so much nicer to look at a DVD, especially when there’s not only baby massage info, but information from a QUALIFIED therapist on baby development and natural exercises and interaction to do with your baby to make sure he is developing well. I recommend Aimee Ketchum’s DVD (very inexpensive for the top quality and plethora of information in it) and WEE Exercises (also very well done).
⭐As a Grandma-to-be I thought I would try to be helpful and learn some specific baby massage techniques, I already have a qualification in adult massage so am no stranger to the general practicalities. I found this book very useful and will put some of the suggestions into practice as soon as I am allowed to get my hands on the soon-to-be-born grandchild!
