Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐This book included many signs to get us started, but I found myself asking “thats it?” when I got to the last page. I only paid .99 for it for the kindle edition, so it was worth the money, I just wanted more signs. The book referenced ASL letters at times to explain how to do some signs, but did not include how to do the letters. For me personally, I found the best option for me was to watch a video, that way I could make sure I was doing the signs in the right direction and carrying out the signs entirely. It was a very positive book, giving the reader encouragement throughout and made me feel like any sign I teach my baby is better then none. There were time though, where the drawings in the book showed arrows to explain which way to move your hands, and I still was not confident I was doing them correctly. After I finished the book, I watched youtube videos and felt much more accomplished.

⭐I struggled between giving the book 3 or 5 stars. I have it 5 stars because I bought this Kindle edition for around $1 and it’s completely worth it. But the argument for 3 stars as opposed to 5 would be that it’s not the complete book; it’s a mini version and so the content is extremely limited. That said, this mini Kindle version covers some of the basics and works as a great trial to see if you want to invest in the full book.We used the full version paperback book with my son when he was a baby; he’s 10+ now. We were astonished how well we were able to communicate with him before he could speak. I like the system so much, I plan on purchasing the ASL for dummies Kindle edition.

⭐The grand babies and I will have a great time following in the lessons learned in this book. There are many helpful signs with illustrations. It’s a very easy read. As a past student of finger spelling and simple signs, this book was a great refresher.

⭐This is a great book for beginners! I love the easy reading and pages showing the signs.HOWEVER, when the publisher put this book in print, perhaps they didn’t realize that the picture of the sign and the words on how to do the sign should be on the same page. I spent too much time flipping pages. When showing my daughter picture of the sign, I had to flip to the page before or after to read on how to form and do the sign. TOO MUCH WORK. I now have a sign language dictionary. But a good first book to start with…just a lot of work to read and look at picture. FLIP FLIP FLIP FLIP…

⭐It is a basic book, just 20 signs, but it is clear in why we should teach signs to our babies. For 1 dolar I didn’t expect more, but the words that learn are the more importantes and it is a good beginning

⭐Has very little sign and more of a story of the writer and her kids. You can get all the signs and more for free from the internet and they even have a demo. I ended up using the baby signing time video’s on amazon and even now that my baby talks fluently she still loves those.

⭐I’d like to get the full length version of this book, but was very happy with this mini edition, especially for the price. It gives you good information & just enough signs to get started and decide if siging with your child will work for you. Very readable style (no surprise with a “Dummies” book), and written in an encouraging manner.

⭐I did not like this book. It did not give enough signs. My grandson hknows all those sighns we are looking for more advanced. this book was not worth the cost.

⭐good read

⭐This book is useless to anyone in the UK hoping to learn baby signing as the America Sign Language described in this book is very different to the British Sign Language which is what (obviously) is taught and understood in the UK! It certainly shouldn’t be combined with ‘my first baby signs’ (which currently it is) as this is a British Sign Language book and many of the signs are differnt which is very confusing!
