⭐When I was learning logic and digital design I took two courses. One class called “Logic Design” used a book called “Fundamentals of Logic Design” and a class called “Digital Systems Design” used a book called “Digital Systems Design using VHDL”(course and book name don’t diverge much). This book essentially combines both of the books I used and does it in Verilog instead of VHDL. It is jammed full of code examples. It has a million and one examples on how to write test benches. However, there wasn’t much for me to pick up from this book, because I already knew of all the digital circuits described in the book. If you’re already strongly familiar with the basics of digital design, then this book will simply serve as a Verilog example book.
⭐You never buy a textbook having high hopes that it will be decent, but I was pleasantly surprised by this tome. Its uses simple words and grammar and has a fair amount of Verilog examples in it. There is also an errata available for some typological errors. I have a few other HDL books but this is the best one for beginners that I’ve encountered thus far. If you aren’t required to buy this book I suggest you purchase it anyways.
⭐This book covers the fundamental of digital logic and synthesis in a simple manner. I was very well pleased by how the book was laid out. The Verilog examples were a great start and helped me learn quickly, and even included test-benches to simulate every example in the book.
⭐It is “fat” book….but covers the verilog language in details. It is really well written for students very detailed oriented. I am engineer so probably I dont need it to be in such a detail but still it is work reading….I wish I had this book in school….I strongly recommend it to all students.

⭐Like his books on Verilog HDL, Computer Arithmetic, and Sequential Logic, the author treats these topics in the same comprehensive manner using Verilog HDL. The author provides excellent introductions to programmable logic devices, D/A conversion, A/D conversion, and magnetic recording fundamentals. Memory is also covered in the context of Verilog design as well as an arithmetic and logic unit. A good book to learn digital design for both combinational and sequential logic.
⭐This book provides a complete exposition of digital logic analysis and synthesis. The author presents a thorough coverage on Verilog HDL as it applies to combinational logic, sequential logic, and computer arithmetic design. Error detection and correction is also included and covers Hamming code, CRC code, residue checking, and parity prediction with Verilog designs for Hamming code and residue checking. A great book from which to learn logic design and Verilog HDL.
