Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:
⭐Just returned from a “bucket list” trip to Alaska that has been in the planning stage for over 6 months. This book was invaluable in helping us to choose activities, locations, prices. Writers are knowledgeable and the information is current. Highly recommend to all who are contemplating this beautiful trip.
⭐Bought this book for an upcoming trip to Alaska, having never been I am excited to read and learn about Alaska and be able to plan out my trip. Very helpful in both the schedule of things like tours, wildlife watching and train schedules.
⭐The family depended on this to plan their trip to Alaska. Works well. Especially the parts that point to “what to see” and “Don’t bother.”
⭐Not what I expected for a touring alaska book. Not much for the rv tour.
⭐I found this book on a Holland America ship during my Alaska cruise/tour, read it onboard the ship and found it so well written and useful that after my return home I bought it from Amazon. Why ? Several reaosns. The language. Written in plain, straight-forward way, with no hot-air, no high-falutin stuff. Reads like well-written fiction even though it is not.The information. Lots of practical, first-hand gathered, information, useful both for participants of organized cruise/tours, like the one I just took, and for tourists discovering Alaska independently on their own, like I’m going to do next summer with “Alaska for Dummies” in hand. The interesting tid-bits. I knew that Alska was big, but it didn’t really click for me how big it was until I found in this book comparisons like: France, Germany and Italy would all fit into Alaska territory with still room to spare for the State of Maine. If you superimpose Alaska map over the lower 48s, it will strech all the way from Atlantic to Pacific Ocean. Most of Alaskans were not born there: they came to visit and stayed to live there. And even if you don’t plan to experience Alaska in person, the book allows you to do it vicariously through the author’s personal Alaska stories.
⭐This book helped us plan for our first trip to Alaska, and we referred to it often during our two-week RV trek. The author took us by the hand as if to say, “don’t worry, you will have a great trip to Alaska, and I will show you how.”The other book that proved indispensible on our Alaskan road trip:
⭐Easy to read. Well ordered
⭐Great book much information for our upcoming trip to Alaska
