Description

Many years of teaching led Geoff Renshaw to develop Maths for Economics as a resource which builds your self-confidence in maths by using a gradual learning gradient and constantly reinforcing learning with examples and exercises. Some students embarking on this module feel that they have losttheir confidence in maths, or perhaps never had any in the first place. The author has designed the book so that whether you have a maths A level, GCSE, or perhaps feel that you need to go back over the very basics, knowledge is built up in small steps, not big jumps. Once you are confident that youhave firmly grasped the foundations, this book will help you to make the progression beyond the mechanical exercises and into the development of a maths tool-kit for the analysis of economic and business problems. This is a skill which will prove valuable for your degree and for your futureemployers. Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐I felt that the explanation to the book was inaccurate to what was on the pages. It definitely was not a help for beginning economics class.

⭐Good for getting your head around some concepts but the problem exercises at the end of each section often present equations which the book hasn’t yet taught you how to tackle, leaving you stumped. Also, the answers to the problem questions are full of errors. For example one of the early problem questions asks you 3 to the power of 3 i.e. 3 cubed. The answer is obviously 27 (i.e. 3x3x3), however the answer given in the textbook is 81.There are also other errors given on the answer page.I was finding the book useful but now I have reached the more difficult sections I have lost faith that the book is providing me with the correct answers. Also, how can I realistically test myself using the practice questions when the ones provided are more complex than the taught matierial in the previous section?

⭐Here is help for Microeconomics w/Calculus by Perloff; Microeconomics with Calculus with Nicholson and Snyder; and Microeconomics with Besanko and Braeutigam. You all wrote excellent microeconomics textbooks and with Geoff Renshaw riding shotgun I think I can handle all of you on a self-study basis.

⭐This is one of the best maths textbooks I have ever used. Explanations are crystal clear, and it is very visual, with many illustrations, which make the concepts presented easy to understand. I recommend this book to anyone studying towards a degree in economics or business.

⭐good

⭐perfect for my son’s university course
