Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:
⭐Gives insight into the evolution of Schumacher’s philosophy and character while providing the necessary historical details and context. The author is his daughter and while Ms.Wood’s love for her Dad is evident throughout, she does not appear to treat him with kid gloves. Her report of Fritz’s struggles to understand his family’s tacit support for Hitler and the Nazi’s was an interesting surprise to me as I had come to the book primarily to settle questions about his religious thought/allegiance.According to Ms. Wood, Fritz progressed from atheism early on to membership in the Roman Catholic Church toward the end of his life. This explained for me the shifting intellectual ground I felt while reading his *small is beautiful* and gave me more confidence to tackle *A Guide for the Perplexed*.
⭐It’s been a while since I read this book. My biggest interest has been in Schumacher’s “Guide for the Perplexed”, which I find is a helpful venture into metaphysics and personal psychology. But it’s helpful to put Schumacher in context, which Wood’s book does well.
