Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:
⭐I bought this to accompany ”The Odyssey” for my son. He is reading this for his gifted English class and this really helps him to interpret the saga.
⭐This is the perfect way to read The Odyssey. It has a great table of contents with analysis at the end of each chapter. The chapters are condensed so you get the salient points of the story. Highly recommend.
⭐Our high school students didn’t even know that Cliff Notes existed until I showed them this book. Now our girls are big fans.
⭐Most people I know have to read the book at some time in high school or college; this cliffs note guide offers generally the same type of review information you could find for free online, though of course its trim paperback format makes it a more convenient, portable size for flipping through and taking notes in while in a line or a waiting room. I got it for free or a sale (it’s been awhile) with the book The Odyssey itself but didn’t find it to be a particularly helpful companion to the book. I’d suggest just taking notes as you read and useing them.
⭐The important details of every Book are explained and analyzed, not very much in-depth but deeply enough to give a basic understanding of what’s going on, why, and how it might be interpreted. I had read the Odyssey twice in the past (and remembered almost nothing), so this was a great way to refresh my memory without having to read the epic for the third time for a course. It is not intended to replace reading the actual epic, but it does help make it more accessible to all. Good work.
⭐Cliff Notes are great. Never been disappointed. Read the real book though, especially if you are a college slacker.Greek history and mythology is fascinating. How can anyone not enjoy the precursor to Western Civilization?Would recommend even if you are reading the real Odyssey story — a good pre-book read. The Illiad is good too.
⭐Really helped us get a good grade on the test
⭐Super easy read. Book was in great condition. Font is a bit small, however. I don’t have bad eyesight and I was squinting a bit. Still worth it to help me pass the class!!
⭐Purchased to help with exam revision. The book outlines characters and themes of the Odyssey which helps to structure revision and create flash cards. It’s really worth it as an aide but no substitution for actually reading the Odyssey.
⭐just what you need to understand and comprehend
⭐Further information on this great epic. Good chapter headings under which various subjects are presented. Would have liked more information on different translation; Pope’s, ETC.
⭐ok
