User’s Reviews

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐I was very excited when I heard Lectura Dantis II was on the bookshelves. I have reviewed and enjoyed the first volume and was so eager to get my hands on two I hopped in my car (sorry Amazon)and made a rare personal appearance at the bookstore. There it was. My heart sank. It looked so small. On getting it home, I discovered it was only 80 pages shorter than the previous volume: enough to notice, but not enough to cause a scandal. It, moreover, included among its authors a good number of luminaries: Jacoff, Hollander, Kirkpatrick and Martinez to name a few. So, I really have little to complain about, except that Purgatorio is such a brainbreaker, no matter how much help you get, you want more. In Inferno, Dante writes a whole mess of checks he has to make good with Purgatorio. It works, but its hard going. Inferno is more fun, Purgatorio more rewarding. Especially when Beatrice shows up in a Griffin drawn chariot, it beats anything in Inferno. Considering how hard I have used this book in my own book on the Purgatorio (watch this space) I would be ungrateful to give it any less than five stars. By the way, if you want a Lectura Dantis on Inferno with only one voice: try mine.
