⭐ This was a really good book with an interesting story line. The characters were likable once you got past the “instant love” thing that the hero had going on. I liked the fact that Gracie didn’t just “roll over” and say “yes sir” when something was important to her no matter how alpha he acted/was. I will admit that Kordon having one of his crew members record their conversations and translate them for him was part creepy and part sweet in that his motivation was to better understand her and be able to communicate with her as he learned her language and she learned his but it did manage to stay on the right side of that stalkerish line. I liked how the other warriors had no problem with respecting a strong “warrior” woman and didn’t let it make them feel like “less” of a warrior themselves. I like strong heroines in books and Gracie definitely qualifies. I also liked the fact that the story line didn’t take a back seat to the romance and sci-fi elements of the book. So many books now seem to throw the romance (or sex) parts of the book in without thinking about how it plays into the overall story line. It’s almost like they are trying to get x number of those scenes in per book (or chapter) without thinking about how it fits with where the story is currently.I have also read the next book in the series Krac’s Firebrand: Science Fiction & Fantasy (Zion Warriors Book 2) . and will be watching for future stories in this series.

⭐ Gracie’s touch is one of the best books I have read in years and I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in Science Fiction, Time Travel, Adventure, and Romance because this book has it all.This book starts on planet earth where It has been invaded by aliens that are killing the children, kidnapping women for breeding purposes, and harvesting organs and body parts from men.Gracie is a computer programmer and has been hiding out with a group of human rebels referred to as the “Freedom Five”. Gracie broadcasts over the airways to inspire hope to humans that can hear her transmissions. She always ends her transmissions with a signature line: “This is Gracie’s Touch.”Gracie learned to decipher the alien’s language and computer systems which controlled their defenses. Gracie’s final plan is to get on the mother ship and implement a virus that will cause it to explode. Gracie is able to get away from the ship in time but the concussion from the blast sends her through time over 800 years.

I actually stumbled across this author one day while searching for a great book to read to escape from my every day mundane world. Ms. Smith’s unique writing style is only seen in her books and shares a perceptive that is new and fresh. Her stories grab your attention from the beginning and won’t let go of you even days after reading it. She is the storyteller whisperer!The Earth has been invaded by half-organic/half-robotic group of aliens known as the Alluthans. Young Gracie’s world ceases to exist as she has known it and becomes a war zone. She is separated from her family when they are captured by the aliens and incarcerated. She is left alone on the streets until one day a group of resistant fighters finds her in a subway tunnel malnourished and scared. She grows up as a member of the Freedom Fighters and becomes known as one of the Freedom Five, the leaders of the resistance. When she devises a plan to deliver a virus to the mothership, Gracie’s world is changed forever.Grand Admiral Kordan is a respected leader of the military and commands a starship for the Confederation of Planets. He is a warrior from a planet of warriors and a loner. When he hears Gracie’s voice, he is touched by the sound of it. ⭐ Gracie is awesome! She became a warrior at a young age when her planet was attacked by evil aliens (kind of like the Borg in Star Trek) who wanted to use parts of the healthy men for parts in the army that they already have & to make breeders out of any woman that could have a child. Gracie saved her planet but at the expense of also losing the planet when she was shot 800 years into the future after blowing up the aliens mother ship. 3 years later where she crashed on a moon she was able to contact a ship & on that ship was Kordon who winds up being her mate & this is where the action gets really good as she has to again but with Kordon’s help defeat the same aliens that she had killed 800 years ago. This book was excellent as it had all of my favorite elements; fast-paced action, lots of sex scenes, good vs bad element & hot sexy Aliens. I started this book this morning around 4 am & finished it around 8 am as I didn’t want to put this book down.

⭐ This is a new author for me, and I was a bit skeptical as I tend to read more erotic romance than contemporary. However this book rolled both into one.I’ll get my one gripe out of the way, and no I’m not an English major or professional reviewer but the editing and grammar errors in this book did get on my nerves. It is the reason I didn’t give it a 5 star review. But if the author would get someone to clean it up then it would have been a 10 star review! Now that I have that out of the way, even with the bad editing for grammar and spelling I still would have read this book.The story is intense, action packed and drama filled. Gracie is amazing, as well as the rest of the cast of characters. The story followed a logical plot line but kept you guessing as you went along, and kept you glued to the pages. I actually had to take a break just to rest my eyes! As for the romance, it was erotic and graphic, but tasteful, sensual, and romantic. Oh and keep a box of tissues next to you as well as there are some real tear jerker scenes!So if you want a great story, with amazing characters, set in a sci-fi situation and you top it off with some steamy sex then this is the book for you! I can’t wait for the next book in this series!

Smith is really causing me to lose sleep and stay on the edge waiting for another installment of any of her series!First I’d like to say that the editing is improving – its not perfect but it has improved more than 100%.Now onto Gracie, at 17 Gracie is a computer whiz, she can hack into any system, figure out the computer language and she also speaks or reads at least 6 languages. The world has been attacked by a race of aliens called Alluthans, they are part robot and part human, they belong to a hive race that moves from galaxy to galaxy to strip resources and use the women for breeding and the men for body parts. Gracie has been fighting them since she was 12 years old along with four men who have become her new family, they are called the Freedom Five, now at 17 she has figured out a way to kill the Alluthans off. But she will need to get to their mother ship to do it and she’s the only one who can. She does but there’s no happy ending for her. Her ship crashes on a uncharted moon and she’s there alone for 3 years.The Zion Warriors are an elite force of fighters who protect and serve the Confederation of Planets, their Admiral Kordon has travelled to an outpost that was attacked by an unknown source, all the miners were killed and they don’t know who attacked them, women were taken and all the children were killed, many of the men had organs and limbs surgically removed. – Sound familiar? They are looking around to see how this happened when they receive a SOS from Gracie after tracking the message they arrive at the unknown moon and rescue her… and then the story really gets hot.S.E. Smith has become one of my favorite authors within the space of one month. She is one of the best story tellers I’ve ever come across, the really great thing is the stories are varied, different and original – the really bad thing is she adds to series individually while keeping 3 or 4 in the air at the same time and she’s constantly adding new stories! I love it! I do wish the stories were longer but then she would be writing slower aagh!!!I can’t wait for the next story of any series!!! I just need another fix!

⭐ I recently started this new series by SE Smith and found myself totally immersed in Gracie and Kordon’s story. Some of Smith’s stories repeat the same plot lines, but she offers the reader a new twist in the Zion Warrior series. Gracie is not a warrior by nature, but a computer genius who is able to use her skills to hack into and ultimately defeat a menacing alien race. She is then hurled into space – some eight hundred years into the future. I loved that Gracie was depicted as smart and resourceful, but also vulnerable and soft. Kordon and his team were very intriguing as well, and I am eager to read more about them. The only thing I didn’t care for was Gracie falling into bed so quickly with Kordon – it was only days after she found out that everyone she knew and loved had been gone for centuries. She truly loved Chance and would have needed much more than a few days to overcome that and reach out to another man. In addition, the recurring plot line of the female being “kidnapped” has been overdone in Smith’s stories. I hope she dispenses with this concept in the next book.

⭐ I really DID enjoy this book, it was a great story and I became emotionally invested in the characters. I could really feel for Gracie when things were going badly but… Yes, you knew there would be a ‘but’.Did the author need to have her basic plot line so similar to the movie “Independence Day”? See if this is familiar: Alien invasion, Mother ship controls everything, impenetrable shields, disable it with a computer virus, have to go to the ship to load it etc. etc. She even used a version of the “fat lady singing” phrase – at least she didn’t test the shield by shooting a Coke can! Now, i will say that the ‘similar’ material is a minor percentage of the book and that the rest of it was engrosing, enjoyable and unique (in as much as any alien, hunk, romance novel is unique!).The typos drove me a little nuts too – they were more like mixtures of tenses rather than spelling errors for example, “he will take her and sale her”, but a grammar check would have caught those if one had been done.I know it sounds as if I didn’t like it but those two issues were just niggles and i really enjoyed curling up on the couch and reading the story.And if there is a book 2 I want to read it now!

⭐ I loved the first 20% of this book, it has a great start and I found the plot to be quite original but, sadly, the story gets a bit lame after a while and at the end it’s just another “just ok” romance.Also It has quite a few sex scenes but they don’t really work, I love steame reads and I do read a lor of erotica and I fin that lost of supposedly “hot reads” are lacking in the heat department. The sex scenes don’t work even if they are explicit, and what could have been a very steamy encounter reads like a grocery list… I ended up skipping most of the scenes after I read the first couple of them.I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 3 because in spite of all the above mentioned I never felt like quitting and, it has an end! no cliff-hanger here (I hate them) in spite of being a series, so it would really be a 3.5 stars read for me.

⭐ Love her writing style. Perfect balance of action and emotional depth. Sexy hero who was madly in love with the human female heroine. Challenges facing themKeep you totally involved with them as the characters face their deep emotional connection. HEA was perfect.
